Northern Realms at going… North…. once again.
After a year so far spent mostly travelling down south for weddings, festivals and events, today we finally head back up north for Allendale Mayfair 2026
There’s something special about taking Northern Realms back into the hills and old market towns again. Vans full of axes, bows, and far too much coffee, heading towards another weekend of organised Viking chaos.
If you’re attending Allendale Mayfair this year, come find us.
Have a throw.
Loose an arrow.
Cause mild concern among your friends with unexpectedly accurate axe throwing…
And if you hear distant shouting followed by applause, someone probably just threw an axe into someone’s garden….

What a weekend.
Wedding celebrations, birthdays, flying axes, laughter, cheers and more new faces joining the Northern Realms Clan.
This weekend alone saw us travelling across the country bringing Viking axe throwing and traditional archery to weddings and events, including a soggy trip to Wigan, Lancashire and a fantastic (and a bit soggy) day in Pershore, Worcestershire where first-time archers were landing shots they’ll probably still be bragging about next year.
One organiser managed a bullseye from 20 metres after only a handful of shots for the first time ever and the reaction was absolute chaos in the best possible way.
We’ve said it before and we’ll keep saying it:
Northern Realms was never meant to feel like “just another activity hire”.
We want people to walk away feeling like they actually experienced something.
The messages, reviews and support we’ve received over the last few days have honestly blown us away. Thank you to every single person who booked us, cheered someone on, picked up an axe, drew a bowstring or shared a post.
You’re helping two slightly sleep-deprived Viking enthusiasts build something very real.
Now we regroup, sharpen the axes, repair the ranges and prepare for the next adventure.

Most wedding entertainment gets forgotten by the time the cake is cut.
Then there’s this.
Axe throwing in wedding dress.
Longbows in the spring Norfolk sun.
Guests cheering from the trees.
Hugs, laughter, competition, and memories that actually feel real.
This is why we do what we do.
Northern Realms was never meant to be just another activity hire company. We wanted to create moments people talk about for years afterwards.
Massive thanks to Vicki and Connar for allowing us to share these photographs from their day. What an atmosphere it was and of course the extremely talented for snapping these perfect moments in time.
If you’re planning a wedding and want something immersive, memorable, and wildly different from the usual disco-and-photo-booth routine, you know where we are.

Back from a fantastic trip to Norfolk for Connar and Vicki’s wedding at the beautiful Happy Valley Woodland Retreat.
Sunshine all day, axes flying, arrows fizzing, plenty of laughter, and one hell of an atmosphere. Days like this remind us exactly why we do what we do.
Also came home with our heads full of ideas for . It is always inspiring seeing places where people can properly switch off, slow down, and reconnect with nature and each other.
The vision keeps growing.
Huge congratulations again to Connar and Vicki, and thank you for having us as part of your day.
Skål!

What a weekend at Brynskaldr, courtesy of the ladies and gents at Drengskapr and Sirhowy Hill Woodlands
Two full days of axe throwing, archery, great people, amazing food, (The Magna Carva, we're looking in your direction...) stunning location, the blowing of horns, the clash of shields and axes on the battlefield, the thud of axes and woosh of arrows flying through the air.
Events like this are exactly why we do what we do. Watching people step up, take their first throw, and then come back again and again to beat their score never gets old.
Huge thanks to everyone who came over and had a go, bought from our shop, and listened to our plans with Norðheim Viking Village, you made it what it was, and if it's happening again next year, you can count on us being there again, right in the middle of it.
If you’re planning an event and want something people actually get involved in, you know where we are.

You do not need a venue to book us.
We get asked this all the time.
People assume they need a castle, a big event, or a venue recommendation to bring in axe throwing, archery or spears.
You don’t.
If you have:
a garden, a field, private land, space at a party or event
we can bring the full Viking experience to you.
We handle the setup, safety, and everything needed to run it properly.
If you’ve got the space, we’ve got the weapons.

Northern Realms has always been about more than axe throwing and archery.
From the beginning, it was about creating experiences that felt real, something people remembered, something with story, atmosphere, and meaning behind it.
Norðheim is the next step in that journey.
A permanent home for everything we believe in. Firelight instead of fluorescent lights. Craft instead of consumption. Community instead of noise.
A real Viking village in Yorkshire, built with reclaimed materials, traditional skills, and a proper respect for the old ways.
This is the bigger vision behind everything we do.

Your wedding guests don’t remember the chair covers.
They remember the things they actually did.
That awkward gap between the ceremony and evening reception?
That’s where the best memories are made.
Axe throwing. Archery. Spear throwing.
Not just entertainment - an experience people talk about long after the wedding ends.
Limited 2026 dates already going.
