This Friday - 1st of October - we are hosting a Round Table discussion to shape the future of ProDanceLeeds, so we'd love to hear your thoughts!!

The session will run from 12.30 to 14.30 at the Dance Studio Leeds and you can pop in and out at any point.

Last but not least, Anna Cabré-Verdiell will be facilitating the last week of this block of classes!!

Anna’s class aims for movement and thought efficiency. The session start with a short meditation to get together and suggest an idea to be explored during the class. Then we get moving through relational play; challenging our sense of space, trajectory, rhythm and others in the room. Diving into spatial crossings we work on patterns that progress form the floor up to standing, taking us into phrase work.

Class will run Tuesday to Thursday from 9.30 to 11h at

This week Lisa Chearles and George Swattridge will be facilitating PDL under the second round of our Graduate Artist Scheme!

- Lisa’s class is a combination of set material and improvisation, borrowing elements from release, flying low and Gaga technique. The aim of the class is to discover and explore unfamiliar pathways in our own bodies.

Lisa's classes will run on Tues & Thurs at 9.30 at Yorkshire Dance

- George's class begins by offering patterns influenced by Hand-balancing and Asana practice to form a grounded confidence. We then build into playful and dynamic flows, providing challenges that are logical progressions from earlier positions. Towards the end we introduce moments improvisation as a tool to express our individuality alongside our new found confidence with these patterns in motion.

George's classes will run on Wed & Friday at 9.30 at Yorkshire Dance

Next week we have the wonderful Joao Maio leading class for ProDanceLeeds!!

João’s class is designed to provide a pleasurable journey to the movers, whilst deepening their connection with their individual dancing bodies and space. We will start with finding mobility and freedom of movement through evolving floor-work sequences, progressing to standing work where we will be re-visiting and solidifying those same qualities, alongside grounding and travelling through space.

Our next guest teacher is Alethia Antonia!!

Alethia is a freelance dancer, choreographer, teacher and researcher. She has toured internationally and worked for companies such as Russell Maliphant Dance Company, James Wilton Dance, James Cousins Company. Her own work has been commissioned by The Place, NSCD and Fashion Gallery Space. As a teacher, she has taught Scottish Dance Theatre, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Trinity Laban, The Place, LCDS, NSCD, Kingston University. Alethia is currently a Work Place Artist at The Place.
