This logs my attempt raise 50k for Prostate Cancer by beating the Guinness Record for seeing a League match @each ground in the country in the fewest days

So why am I doing this ... there are a few reasons

In no particular order

I need a break from work - I've been at it for 30years - working especially hard over the last 10years at Lloyds Banking Group. I need a break to recharge. a sabbatical is allowed as long as you've been there 5 years - done well - ad have a good reason. I gave 18months notice too. Its a record I used to have - and it'd be

Wow ... just had an Anonymous donation for Β£1000 !!!

Judging by the comment - i'm deducing its come from my employers Lloyds Banking Group πŸ‘ There's so many positive things I could say ... as well as being a great place to work - its the sabbatical policy they've embraced that's made it possible to do the challenge

It takes the total to over 9k + Gift Aid ... with more to come πŸ‘

Lots of my stories and some of the people who've helped me are mentioned ... but there are so many others too.

Link to article is here ... The Times internet is pay per view ... but first two articles are free πŸ‘

Another great day today πŸ˜€

Into work for 7/10 in London but took a long lunch (10-1) to visit the Guinness World Record offices in Canary Wharf ... there was free food before the Q&A πŸ₯–πŸ₯–

Thanks to Doug Male for arranging ... and good to see Mark McKinley again

I was a bit gutted that the current record holder couldn't join us ... hey ho

For the record - if someone wants to take the record on next year ... that'd be great with me πŸ‘

Match 91 : Day 182

Wimbledon v Charlton Athletic

Just arrived at Tim Eckes and Sally Eckes house in Walton on Thames ... 13miles away ... its snowing ..lightly ... ☹️ ... you might think there's nothing i can do ... well - there is - i could go to Wolves v Newcastle ko530pm ... and come to Wimbledon on Tuesday ... 😐

Its Prostate Cancer day at Wimbledon .. i think i'm in the prog ... and Tony Sollars has arranged gor me to be interviewed so ... "snow snow go away"

Other highlight is that i will officially rejoin the 92 club today ... as i never been to Wimbledon new ground since they moved from Plough Lane ... ironically they dont acknowledge the 92 ... its only 91 as afar as they concerned as "the other team" dont exist

Match 90 : Day 176

Swindon Town v Oxford United

Left the Bridgewater Hotel (hostel?) at 7/30 ... and parked up near the Swindon ground by 9 ... quick snooze, walk round then ground and inside by 10 - sitting in the John Trollope Suite with two former board members amongst others ...

Looking forward to the local derby ... big game in these parts ... Oxford on a good run ... Swindon aren't ... sold out too ... inc 3000 away fans ....

Highlight of hospitality was a lad getting chucked out ... he had booked in under an assumed name as he had a banning order ... an eagle eyed steward spotted him ... so him and his two mates got evicted ... mid larger too!!

Thanks to Thanos Anagnostides and Nationwide BS for sorting the ticketβ€πŸ‘

Bristol City v Rotherham

Long journey back down to Bristol ... but a quicker trip than on Tuesday πŸ˜€ ... i booked into a basic B&B (without the second B) and got a taxi to Ashton Gate for 12/35.

Mark Kelly of BCFC has kindly offered me hospitality - thdnks yo Justin Marriott ... and I'm slso meeting Rob Stewart who eorks for the Alzheimer's society.

I was surprised how nice the stadium looks ftom outdide ... as Simon Price told me it was a tip πŸ€” ... but he supports Bristol Rovers !!

After the Emmerdale storyline 😒 Firstly there is a difference between Alzheimer's and vascular dementia- Alzheimer's patients can have medication that helps their cognitive state where as vascular dementia patients have a death sentence. They progress backwards to the point where they can't look after themselves and are in a newborn state. But unlike a newborn they lose the ability to swallow. Then the choice must be made as to provide a feeding tube or not.
Imprisonment in one's own rapidly shrinking brain is how a doctor described it to me. I wouldn't wish Dementia/Alzheimer's on my worst enemy. As the patient's brain slowly dies, they change physically and eventually forget who their loved ones are. Patients can eventually become bedridden, unable to move & unable to eat or drink. There will be people who will scroll by this message because Dementia/Alzheimer's has not touched them. They may not know what it's like to have a loved one who has led a battle against Dementia/Alzheimer's. For all the people I know, I ask a small favour. If you know someone who has battled with Dementia/Alzheimer's or is still struggling, please add this to your status for one hour. Copy & Paste to support victims & families affected by this cruel illness as there is no cure and there are no survivors πŸ˜₯ Hold your finger on the message to copy it, then paste it on your page.
