AfriHer Reminder 🤎
When people treat you like they don’t care…
believe them.
Not their words — their actions.
Don’t chase what isn’t choosing you.
Don’t shrink your standards to keep others comfortable.
Choose clarity.
Choose peace.
Choose yourself.
Arise. Advance. Become. 🤎

There is quiet joy in slowing down.
In sitting still long enough to create.
Pottery painting reminded me that healing doesn’t always come from deep conversations or big life changes —
sometimes it comes from colour, brushes, and giving your mind a break 🤍
As you paint, your thoughts soften.
Your breathing slows.
Your nervous system exhales.
This is your gentle nudge:
🎨 Try the pottery painting class
🎨 Book something creative just for joy
🎨 Let your hands lead for a moment
Mental wellbeing isn’t always loud or dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like an afternoon of creativity, presence, and calm.
Soft does not mean unproductive.
Joy is not a distraction.
It is restoration.
Rise. Advance. Become.

The Quiet Confidence Rule
You don’t have to shout to be heard.
You don’t have to dominate to lead.
Real confidence is calm.
Grounded.
Settled.
It’s the energy of someone who knows who they are — and doesn’t need to prove it.

Kindness is not weakness — it’s leadership.
With every role I’ve held, one thing has remained true:
People don’t thrive under fear… they thrive under leaders who combine strength with compassion.
Kindness doesn’t mean you avoid tough conversations.
It doesn’t mean you lower your standards.
It simply means you lead with emotional intelligence, clarity, and grace.
You can be firm and still be kind.
You can hold people accountable without tearing them down.
You can lead with power without losing your humanity.
That is real leadership.
That is impact.
That is strength under control.

“Tell me something about yourself”… what I’m really listening for
When it comes to interviews, especially in Health & Social Care, this question is deeper than people realise.
Whether you’re applying to be a Manager, Nurse, HR Advisor, Chef, Cleaner or Administrator — yes, we look at your qualifications, experience and skills.
But that’s not all.
In our sector, your lived experiences matter just as much.
I pay attention to qualities like:
✨ Compassion
✨ Empathy
✨ How you empower others
✨ How you advocate
✨ How you handle stressful or emotional moments
✨ And the heart behind why you do what you do
As a GM and Commissioning Leader, I’m passionate about building strong teams that deliver excellent customer experience and outstanding care.
When I ask, “Tell me about yourself,” I’m not looking for a polished script.
I’m looking for the person behind the CV.
Because many people may have the same qualifications…
but nobody else has your story.
👇
As you prepare for your next role or interview, start sharing the part of you that makes you you.
Your story matters. Your qualities matter. Your “why” matters.
💬 What part of your story sets you apart? Share below — someone might learn from it.

The less you respond to drama, the more peaceful your life becomes. I have no energy to hate. I either love you, wish you well or hope you heal
