You may or may not be aware of the sad news that this weekends Derny Championships at Derby has been cancelled two days before the actual event. I can confirm that this is in fact the case, sadly! It appears that there are concerns over the amount of fumes and emissions they are creating. Derby arena is reviewing the ventilation system they possess.

The disappointing ramification this has for us is that all of our Derny nights have been suspended with immediate effect until further notice. Which includes this Thursday the 25th of September! We are extremely disappointed, however, we are keen to work with the arena to rectify the issue and continue the series as soon as possible.

Therefore, we will refund all the entries for the 25th and seek to restart in the new year when its been deemed safe for all concerned.

We are deeply sorry for the disappointment this may have caused, but everyone's safety is paramount. We're very positive that there will be a series in the new year, please stay tuned and updates will be available towards the back end of November.

In the mean time keep fit, have a brilliant finish to the year whatever you are doing. Finally, good luck to all of you travelling to the World Championships in October, race well and hopefully We'll see a few of those stripy jumpers mid October!

Derny Fest 12 is coming !

Most have shown and confirmed that you wanted it in September. Therefore, we have dates of the 4th and the 25th set in stone and loaded on to Rider HQ, with a difference! Because of the interest other than the superb regulars, we've had a lot of new enquiries, wanting the opportunity to race, however to save places, we've decided to put everyone on the waiting list and the fields will be selected nearer the date. It has now become important to submit your entry asap to avoid disappointment. Remember these events have been included to help with your prep for the BMCR Nationals and the Worlds, so if your keen and serious about these championships these races can help drastically!

We will be giving some newbies the chance to ride, so its important to enter, but there will be sacrifices somewhere, but if you're not in one we will try and put you in for the other.

I hope this acceptable, but its vital we give people the chance to hopefully encourage more participation and the continuation of the series in 2026.
