Leigh East Lions were narrowly beaten 16-12 away to Drighlington in a hard-fought BARLA Cup encounter. The Lions made a bright start, with Lukas linking up nicely with Jack crossing for the opening try of the game, and a determined first-half performance saw them take a deserved 10-6 lead into the break.

The second half was an evenly contested affair, but Drighlington fought their way back to edge in front. Despite a spirited effort and battling until the final whistle, the Lions were unable to find the decisive score as the hosts secured a narrow 16-12 victory. There were plenty of positives to take from the performance, with Leigh East showing great determination and teamwork throughout.

Leigh East Lions produced a dominant display at home to Halton Farnworth, taking control from the opening whistle. A clinical first-half performance in both attack and defence saw the Lions race into a commanding 22-0 lead at the break, with the team working tirelessly for one another and showing great discipline throughout.

The Lions maintained their intensity in the second half, continuing to defend strongly while adding further points to complete an impressive victory. It was an outstanding all-round team performance, with every player contributing to a well-deserved win and a clean sheet on the road.

This Sunday we welcome Halton Farnworth Hornets down to Leigh East for our last fixture before the Summer break.

During the last meeting in March the Lions secured a 16-0 league win over the Hornets. Who will come out on top this weekend in what should be a great battle between two strong sides.

Leigh East Lions faced a tough test away to Leigh Miners in their latest league fixture. The hosts took control in the first half, building a 24-0 lead by the break despite the Lions' efforts to stay in the contest.

The Lions showed plenty of determination in the second half and were rewarded when Ollie crossed for their only try of the game. However, Leigh Miners continued to apply pressure and added further points to secure a 32-4 victory. Despite the result, the Lions continued to battle until the final whistle and will look to take positives into their next league outing.

This weekend makes the halfway point in the season with the the start the return fixtures. Kicking off the start of the second half we are venturing across town over to our local friends and rivals at Leigh Miners.

Leigh East Lions exited the Lancashire Cup after a closely contested 18-14 defeat away to Saddleworth Rangers. The Lions matched their opponents throughout the first half, with Archie crossing for a try to leave the scores level at 6-6 at the break.

The second half remained evenly fought, with Lukas and Conor both getting on the scoresheet for Leigh East. Despite a determined performance and battling until the final whistle, the Lions were unable to overturn the deficit as Saddleworth Rangers edged through to the next round.

On Sunday we welcomes Pilkington Recs down to Leigh East.

The visitors struck first, crossing for the opening try of the game to take an early lead. The Lions responded brilliantly, showing great character and determination to wrestle back control of the match. Hayden got Leigh East on the scoreboard with a well-worked try before Lukas got a scoot on the line to give the Lions the advantage heading into the break.

The second half was a closely contested affair, with both sides battling hard for every metre. Leigh East's defence remained solid throughout, and Ollie eventually added the decisive score to extend the lead and put the game beyond the visitors.

Well done to all of the lads on the win which now brings them top of the table.
