Race report Olivers Mount Racing gold cup 80th anniversary.
We had two Qualifying sessions on Friday which were cut short due to red flags but because of my times I was still able to qualify for the A race which meant I would be out with some very well known and experienced riders.
Saturday
The weather was dry and sunny which was perfect for racing.
Race 1:
I started P17 out of 22 riders. Had a really good race and I finished in P13 overall and 3rd in class so was very pleased with that.
Race 2:
I started P17 again and finished p15 overall and 3rd in class after having another enjoyable race.
Sunday started off dry but soon became wet and cooler and as soon as it dried up it rained again so the tyre choice was difficult to call.
Race 3:
I started P15 because of my times the day before and finished P16 overall and 4th in class after having a few gear change problems.
Race 4:
I started P15 .I went out on wets but unfortunately only managed to do 2 laps before the tyres let go as the track had dried,so it was a DNF due to the wrong tyre choice
I missed out 3rd in class for the weekend by 2 points.
Feature race:
Due to my lap times in Saturdays races I qualified in the top 17, which is across all the classes, for the feature race which was the main race of the weekend.
I started P15 and finished P14 overall and 2nd in class and came in with a grin on my face.
It was a brilliant weekend and an honour to be racing alongside the likes of Dean Harrison Davey Todd, Peter Hickman and Mike Browne in my first full year of road racing.
Thank you to my sponsor Orwell Motorcycles Ltd for the continuous support.
