Time to give a shout-out to this week’s Leominster Town Junior Players of the Match!

From great saves and tackles to goals, assists and brilliant team play, there were plenty of moments to be proud of across our junior sides this weekend.

These awards aren’t just about what happens on the ball either — effort, attitude, teamwork and supporting your teammates all make a difference.

🏆 HFA JUNIOR CUP | MATCH REPORT 🏆

Leominster Town 2–2 AFC Worcester
AFC Worcester win on penalties

Leominster Town hosted AFC Worcester on Saturday in the HFA Junior Cup, with very little to separate the two sides throughout a hard-fought and evenly matched contest.

After 90 minutes the scores were level at 2–2, meaning the tie had to be decided from the penalty spot. Unfortunately, the shootout didn't go our way, with AFC Worcester progressing to the next round.

🏆 Player of the Match: Benjy Gillum

A disappointing way to exit the cup, but plenty of positives to take from a strong performance against good opposition.

Another busy weekend of football for Leominster Town, with the majority of our junior sides in action across Saturday and Sunday!

There’s cup action this weekend for our U10 Colts, U10 Lions and U12s, while our remaining junior teams continue their league campaigns.

Our Men’s First Team are also in cup action and are at home at Bridge Street this Saturday:

🟡⚫ MEN’S MATCH ROUND-UP 🟡⚫

A mixed weekend for our senior sides, with the First Team picking up victory and the Colts narrowly missing out after a tough final 15 minutes.

MENS FIRST TEAM | Kington Town 1–2 Leominster Town

Leominster travelled to Kington looking for their first win of the Division 1 campaign. Going into half-time 1–0 down, Town produced a brilliant second-half response, playing some excellent football and battling back to secure a 2–1 victory and all three points!

⚽ Goals: Charlie Leech & Lewis Cromwell
🏆 Player of the Match: Ted George

A fantastic comeback and a big first league win for the First Team!

MENS COLTS | Leominster Town 1–3 Belmont Wanderers Reserves

The Colts took the lead before half-time and carried their 1–0 advantage deep into the second half.

Unfortunately, injuries and fatigue began to take their toll in the final 15 minutes. Belmont increased the pressure and took advantage, scoring three late goals to turn the game around.

Plenty of positives to take from the performance despite the result, and another good test for the Colts.

A huge well done to all of our Leominster Town junior Players of the Match from this week! 👏

Another brilliant weekend of football across our junior teams, with plenty of hard work, teamwork, determination and some fantastic performances on show.

🟡⚫ WEEKEND FIXTURES 🟡⚫

Another busy weekend of football ahead for Leominster Town FC, with teams in action across Saturday and Sunday!

On Saturday, our Men’s Colts are at home at Bridge Street with a 2:30pm kick-off, while the Men’s First Team travel away to Kington for a 3:00pm kick-off.

Sunday sees plenty more action, with a number of our older youth teams playing both home and away.

Best of luck to all teams representing the Town this weekend and as always, thank you to everyone heading out to support!
