The with is not too far away; well… it kind of is😆 but with the last month just flown by, I thought that I’d share the 2023 calendar with you all if you haven’t seen it already (which is currently provisional) - but gives a solid overview of the racing weekends of 2023👊🏁

Weekend roundup from KZ2 Karting in Valencia last week🇪🇸

In our practice session we encountered a bit of a learning curve - were just off with with the pace in our testing sessions, which unfortunately continued into qualifying resulting in 18th; however we did have some minor brake issues that needed resolving🔧

In the heat yesterday we had a solid start to the race finding some places up the grid to 11th☀️ Completed some solid overtaking, but in the second to last lap a move on the opposition in front didn’t quite go to plan, resulting in an incident and unable to finish. On the upside we were one of the fastest out there, which is always a positive👊

First practice on Sunday was a bit of a struggle with old tyres, but we tried something different with our strategy. Had an unfortunate finish to the weekend as we got caught up in an incident❌

In conclusion we had some solid testing where we learnt alot, but with some unfortunate results in the races - Keeping our chins up as the 2023 season is only just getting started🏁

Next week I have the opportunity to get back in the racing seat and commence 2023 on track. I’ll be jetting off on Tuesday next week and heading over to the International Kartodromo Lucas Guerrero Circuit in Valencia, Spain🇪🇸

0️⃣ KZ2 O PLATE - FOREST EDGE

It was a baptism of fire for Harvey in his first KZ2 race, with minimal laps to prepare prior to the event, but showed well in parts of the event, every lap is a learning experience in these early months in this the pinnacle category across the globe.

The highlight was P10 in heat 4 followed by P17 at the flag in the main final, a more than creditable showing for his first attempt.

Keep watch for Harv's results as we kick on into the KZ2 season 👀

And in a heartbeat that's it.

Harveys X30 career is signed off with a weekend highlight P2 in Qualifying and heat 2 at the final rounds of the British Championships at PF International. The final didn't go to plan however and had to settle for P12.

Harvey now looks towards the future which is competing in the Mini Cooper Challenge with Excelr8 Motorsport and in the KZ2 British Championship with PSR aboard Synergy Chassis using Eurokart tuned TM engines. To gain experience ahead of the 2023 season Harv will compete at the last Mini Cooper Challenge round and the KZ2 British O Plate very soon.

The O Plate proved a difficult one, always in and around the top 10 but unable to progress further. Some performance issues niggling in the background as well as tight racing leaving no room for error or marginal lack in performance.

💫 P7 AT KARTMASTERS GP

📈 UP 6 PLACES IN X30 SENIOR GRAND FINAL

Top result for Harv after tough heats and an unfortunate DNF in Senior Rotax where he'd moved from 30th to 11th before he had to succumb to a mechanical failure, Harv elected to race in two categories this week with the drawn out nature of this huge race which proved fun but physically challenging in warm temperatures.
