Brant Rangers are happy to announce their new Manager, Danny Carpenter!
Having previously been player / Assistant Manager, Danny is stepping up into a new world of Sunday League fun!! We're all looking forward to seeing the team thrive under his stewardship!

Apologies for the radio silence the past couple of weeks!

Here is a short round up of whats been happening at the club.

Last week saw us travel to Bassingham, where we fell to our first league defeat of the season. Despite the lads best efforts, it wasn't meant to be, 2-0 to a flying Bassingham side. Motm for that game was Jack Smith, he may be a young lad, but he plays like hes been going for years!!

This week we returned home for the last time this year, against HBW United. The gers struggled to get going and HBW took the lead in the first half. It wasn't too much longer until Luke Holmes, lined up a free kick, it recoiled off the crossbar and the jury is out as to wether it crossed the line, however Max Williamson smashed his head into the ball to make sure it was a goal. In the second half however, HBW scored a second, a goal which sealed the gers fate. Brant Ranger 1 - 2 HBW United.

A special mention goes to Dan Wyatt our new GK, his debut may not be one he will hold fond memories of, but from the sideline, the crowd were amazed at some of his saves today. He has earned his man of the match!!

Today the club also says goodbye and thank you to Billy and Troy Quinlan, the boys have been scoring goals for fun, but today was the last day either will represent the gers as they look to move to pastures new. Good luck lads and thankyou.

Next week, Witham United, away. The Gers are looking to return to form and jump back up that table!

The Gers are back in league action tomorrow as we hit the road to face Bassingham Bugle Horn, looking to continue our strong start to the season.

Momentum is building, confidence is growing, and after securing our place in the Quarter Finals of the Fred Quibell Junior Cup last weekend, the lads are hungry for more league points.

FULL-TIME | Brant Rangers 3–2 Birchwood Queen in the West
Brant Rangers advance to the Quarter Finals of the Fred Quibell Junior Cup

A chilly morning at Hykeham Memorial saw the Gers dig deep to book their place in the final eight of the competition.

The game started brightly, and it didn’t take long for Brant Rangers to make their mark.
25’ – Luke Holmes opened the scoring after great build-up play, assisted by Jack Thompson.
Birchwood hit back shortly after with a leveller on 27 minutes, but the lads responded perfectly:
37’ – Troy Quinlan restored the lead, assisted by Dec Searle.
Just before the break, Brant grabbed a crucial third:
43’ – Troy Quinlan struck again, after fantastic work from Luke Holmes, making it 3–1 at half-time.

The second half became a gritty battle.
A change at the break saw Thomas Wells come on for James King, and despite controlling long spells, Birchwood pulled one back on 60 minutes, bringing the game tight at 3–2.

A booking for Toby Stephenson on 65’ added to the tension, but the Gers held firm, defended bravely, and saw out the final stages to secure the win and a place in the Quarter Finals.

Man of the Match: Luke Holmes – a constant threat and tireless performance.

MATCH REPORT | Ruskington AFC 4 - 4 Brant Rangers

A rotated Brant Rangers side travelled to Ruskington this morning for our first competitive away fixture — and what a wild game it turned out to be!

Things started in true Sunday League fashion when the referee casually informed both sides that his eyesight wasn’t the best during the teamsheet exchange 👀. From there, it only got more eventful.

Ruskington took an early lead just moments before a break in play for a minute’s silence — a brief and fitting pause for reflection. When play resumed, the Gers responded quickly: Owen Smith teed up Jack Thompson, who coolly slotted home his ninth goal of the campaign (not counting our record-erased fixture!).

The hosts retook the lead shortly after through what can only be described as a dubious finish — whispers of a “Maradona moment” were heard from the sidelines 😉. But the Gers weren’t done yet. A lovely bit of play from Fin Hyland and Mitch Martin saw the defender grab his first goal of the season, levelling it 2–2 before the break.

The second half began with a few tweaks from the gaffer Stefan Porter, and almost instantly, Brant Rangers took the lead thanks to a Ruskington own goal. The hosts hit back again, though, equalising midway through the half.

With time running down, a heavy challenge gave Luke Holmes a free kick 25 yards out — and Luke did what Luke does best: buried it. 4–3 Brant Rangers in the 85th minute!

But just as Owen Smith was bellowing for everyone to “get behind the ball,” Ruskington nicked an equaliser from a corner. 4–4. Moments later, the ref blew for full time — despite plenty of injury time expected — leaving both sides scratching their heads.

Despite the frustration, both teams shared great banter during the match, though the game never quite found its rhythm with all the stops and starts.

Mitch Martin – relentless, tireless, and everywhere on the pitch.

Jack Smith – first full league debut and impressed everyone watching.

Apologies for the late post for Sunday's match. We had a very exciting and competitive game whith Bassingham, with goals red cards and more.
Unfortunately one of our players was injured, requiring medical assistance. The game was abandoned at 3-3.

We would all like to wish Lewis Thompson a speedy recovery, all of the lads are behind him and he will be sorely missed whilst he is out.

Thanks go to Bassingham, both for a challenging game and for checking in with us regarding our player. We look forward to meeting again later in the season.

No game next week, we return away (finally) against Ruskington the week after!
