Next Saturday, we’ll be welcoming a small group into Old Hanging Wood for our first Woodland Photography Workshop.

Whether you usually take photos on your phone or camera, this relaxed, beginner-friendly session is all about slowing down, exploring the woodland and learning how to capture the nature around you in a completely different way. 🌳

Join us at Old Hanging Wood for a relaxed, practical woodland photography workshop created especially for beginners.

Led by professional photographer, filmmaker and author Donato Cinicolo, you’ll explore composition, patterns and shapes while learning how to create more interesting and considered photographs.

No previous experience, technical knowledge or expensive equipment needed. This is for anyone who enjoys taking photographs and would love a little guidance and inspiration.

We’re back! 👋

For those who are new to us, we’re Old Hanging Wood, a family-run woodland near Little Chalfont that we’re gradually bringing back into use for community activities.

We want the woodland to be somewhere people can step away from everyday life, spend time outdoors, learn something new, get creative and enjoy everything this beautiful space has to offer 🌿

Over the coming months, you’ll start to see everything from photography and bushcraft to volunteering opportunities and other outdoor activities.

But we don’t want to decide everything ourselves…
We’d love the local community to help shape what happens here. So follow along, get involved and tell us what you’d love to see happening at Old Hanging Wood 🌳

📷 Monthly photography sessions are coming to Old Hanging Wood

Starting this September, we will be welcoming people into our beautiful 16-acre woodland near Little Chalfont for a new series of relaxed photography sessions led by photographer and filmmaker Donato Cinicolo.

We are currently finalising the session dates, content and booking arrangements and are inviting people to join our priority interest list.

This isn’t just a patch of trees.
It’s where friendships start, confidence grows, and people find a moment to breathe.

Over the years we’ve seen first-hand how time in nature reduces isolation and supports mental wellbeing.

Now we’re working to reopen access so this space can be shared again 💚

🌿 We’re Back 🌿

After a difficult year, we’re so grateful to say that Old Hanging Wood CIC is returning.

In 2024, we had to pause everything following serious illness affecting two of our directors. It’s been a long road but we’re now ready to step back into the woodland and reconnect with our community 💚

We’ve missed you. And we know many of you have missed this space too.

Our first step is restoring access into the woods so we can safely welcome you back.
