Persistence paid off for Shane Pratt on a recent syndicate session, banking this mega 36lb 2oz common after a session full of twists and turns 🔥

After arriving to a quiet lake, Shane initially set up in an area known as the “boring side” - open water and margins compared to the islands and pads on the opposite bank. Despite loads of fish activity through the night, no bites materialised and with another swim becoming available the following morning, he made the move 🚶🏻‍♂️

After a quiet afternoon, Shane discovered one of his rods had accidentally been wrapped to the wrong spot, leaving his rig tangled in w**d rather than presented on the clear area he intended. Once corrected and repositioned properly, it didn’t take long before the rod was away and this incredible common slipped over the net cord 🐋

Ken Hillard enjoyed an action-packed 36-hour session on his Lea Valley syndicate water, banking seven carp from seven bites during an unforgettable trip 🔥

Arriving at the venue, Ken quickly settled into a swim he knows well after witnessing what he described as a “dolphin show” out in front of him, with fish crashing repeatedly and giving away their location. Confident he’d found the right area, he wasted no time getting the rods into position 🎯

Two rods were fished at range across a gravel plateau, while a third was positioned short against a savage snag area where he felt confident a bite could come at any moment. All three rods were presented using blow back rigs over a carefully prepared spod mix, creating a feeding area the carp simply couldn’t ignore 🤞🏼

The session produced consistent action throughout, resulting in an impressive return. Ken’s captures included carp weighing 22lb 7oz, 23lb 2oz, 27lb 4oz, 33lb 3oz, 33lb 14oz and a stunning top fish of 38lb 1oz, alongside another smaller carp estimated around the 15lb mark 🐋

For the session, Ken relied on 15lb FluoroCast mainline combined with dependable blow back rigs tied using 35lb CamoX Soft Coated Braid and a Size 4 ApeX Curve hook connected to a Uni Lead Clip set-up ⚙️
