A good start to the week with my ‘Monday Movers’ at St Helens Chain Lane Community Centre

A great attendance and motivation as always, wonderful team work and the singers were in full voice 🎶 🎶

However, the music to my ears was the routine, the precise timing and every class member stepping the right way at the same together. . .

Fabulous!! Well done everyone 💁‍♀️

It’s been a great week of classes for Move it or Lose it with Chris
We finished the week with our Circuits Class. .

One of the greatest privileges of leading my classes is watching my class members discover just how strong they can become, and more so in the circuits class which has literally gone from ‘Strength to Strength’

Every circuits session is designed to build strength, balance, mobility and confidence using a wide variety of equipment. From hand weights and kettlebells to resistance bands, batons, bender balls, steps and bodyweight exercises, every piece of equipment has a purpose. We can adapt every exercise so all class members can work at their own level while still challenging themselves at each workstation. .

Strength training is so much more than just building muscle. For older adults, it’s about maintaining independence, protecting bone health, reducing the risk of falls, improving posture and giving each person the confidence to enjoy an active life. . .

The smiles, positivity, motivation, determination and encouragement shared in every class are what make this community so special. Everyone supports each other, celebrates every achievement and proves that it’s never too late to build up your fitness levels and become stronger and more active. .

It’s been a busy week of classes - Welcome to the weekend, but there was no playtime for me today 💁‍♀️

Annual Training Day - Arthritis Essential - A subject that will build on my knowledge of Osteoarthritis (OA) & Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and feed into our exercise programme. .

This will also back up the advice and encouragement I give to all my class members regarding ❇️ The Importance of Exercise ❇️

Another busy week for Move it or Lose it with Chris

❇️ We started with a cooler morning on Monday at St Helens Chain Lane Community Centre but it wasn’t long before the heatwave 🥵 reminded us it was still around and kicked in again on Tuesday at St Ann's Millennium Centre

❇️ Thankfully, we had our two final sessions with the Pom Pom’s and Parachutes which certainly helped to keep us all cool, and provided you with your very own air conditioning!

❇️ Thursday/Friday we were back at Rainhill Guide House with no let-up to the heat 🥵 but you all did some great work with our cardio routines, and strength & balance challenge - We completed the week with our circuits class. .

❇️ You should all be very proud of yourselves for always bringing your energy, motivation and positivity to every class - It really is my pleasure to support you with your fitness journey. . .

❇️ Now it’s time for us to put our feet up, stay cool, and enjoy some well-earned downtime this weekend

**Remember** Don’t sit for too long, and don’t forget your ‘Homework’

Well it’s certainly been a challenging week with the heatwave 🥵

Thank you to 121 class members who joined me in 6 classes this week in all 3 venues St Helens Chain Lane Community Centre St Ann's Millennium Centre Rainhill Guide House You all did great!

We ended the week with two great classes on Friday on the hottest day of the week. . .Therefore, I have to acknowledge my class members for their dedication to fitness, they certainly didn’t let the heat put them off. . . I pulled out all the stops to keep everyone cool 😎 with jugs of iced water, bags of ice, hydration breaks and toned down exercises, until these parachutes came out. .

This was supposed to be a great way of cooling everyone down, with a nice gentle flow of air, but they all went that one step further and created a fantastic workout! Fab squats here ladies! 👏👏👏

If that wasn’t impressive, I then had 8 ladies who went on to join me and 10 other ladies in our Circuits’ class 💁‍♀️

Another acknowledgement goes to my circuits class members who completed 2 x 10 workstations with 1 minute on each workout 👏👏 Great work on your strength ladies!

I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend, enjoy the weather, but try and keep cool and stay hydrated 💦

Last night I had the pleasure of meeting some of the Brownies & Guides from Henley Park R Division at Rainhill Guide House along with the leaders and two of my class members. .

We were there to present them with a cheque of £400:00 from money raised in our ‘Spring Fundraiser’ which was organised with the full support of all my Rainhill class members. . .

Thank you to Diane Davies for organising our visit to the division and thanks to the leaders and the children for making us so very welcome, and for the applause we received.

It was so nice to see you all in action with your activities. . Keep up the good work💁‍♀️
