Incident 57 of 2025:-
06/11/25, 15:40, Levers Hawse, SD276994
The fells had been in cloud all day, but at least it had finally stopped raining. Two young women and a dog had ascended the Old Man of Coniston and Brim Fell, but had trouble finding the steep path down from Levers Hawse to Levers Water in the fog, and called for help. Cumbria Police passed it to us, and we despatched two Land Rovers to Levers Water dam, and walked up from there.
As we departed our base, the clouds lifted off the tops, and the pair were able to find and follow the path down. However, daylight was fading, and we continued upwards to meet them and provide head-torches. They were accompanied back to our vehicles, and were driven to our base and their car.
9 volunteer team members attended this incident, which lasted for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
He's gonna be for it!
