We improve the paintwork with uk paint that is much better than the original and then we use yacht varnish to bring out the colours and to give the wood work more protection from the weather. The result is good and incorporates the best of both worlds

Our latest authentic Mongolian ger getting measured up for it’s bespoke canvas to be sewn here in Mid Wales. We use British Millerain canvas to ensure they’re ready for anything the British weather throws at it!
This structure was hand painted in Mongolia and has beautiful windows for lots of natural light.

Our next delivery of yurts from Mongolia is due to set off next week. They come on a lorry and enter the Schengen area via Belarus. That border is currently closed to EU trucks however Mongolian lorries with Mongolian drivers, coming from Mongolia which borders Russia stand a pretty good chance of getting through.

Once they arrive we will be going through the yurts carrying out many improvements and upgrades, drying out and seasoning the trellis, upgrading metal fixtures and fittings, making adjustable bands, sewing UK made canvas covers, varnishing the painted frames, adding rubber seals and draught excluders and getting them 'off the peg' ready for delivery next spring when we will be delivering and setting them up for those wishing to have a high quality genuine Mongolian Yurt for the 2023 season 🌿🌏🇲🇳🇲🇳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Here is our latest 22ft yurt being set up at Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen. Bespoke canvas cover sewn in house. The yurt has a cotton lining and felt insulation. It has 2 large double glazed windows and a traditional front door with internal double doors as well. It was made in Mongolia and we then put our own stamp on it.

Another 3 tons of yurts finally arrived yesterday from Mongolia. When entering the EU from Belarus the lorry was delayed by 4 weeks. 2 of our 22ft yurts have sold immediately and we will have some 16ft ones available shortly. Prices for materials and shipping going crazy so not sure how this will affect prices in the future - also the nationwide canvas shortage is stopping anyone making any yurts due to the July delivery not arriving yet - and when it does, most of the canvas is likely to sell straightaway on back order. Happy days!
