Not seen much of this recently… All this rain is playing havoc with the pitches and training.

Guessing we won’t be training tomorrow night but fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Bit cold out there, all the mini & juniors games were called off this morning due to frozen pitches 🥶

Better off indoors with the rugby on.

With gyms a week away from opening up I’ve started to reflect on my training and learning in ‘lockdown’...

4 months ago I knew little of CrossFit and certainly didn’t have it in my workout regime, but after finding out more and learning from some great people online. I’d say I’m a proper convert and will be making it part of my fitness training day in, day out.

Being honest my training had been okay, (if not a little stale) and incorporating CrossFit ideas and WODS into my plan have really given me a new found energy and fun around my training. I’d also say that the last 4 months training have had more impact on me physically and mentally than maybe the last 2 years!

I’m still right at the beginning of this process and even at 41 and after years of training through sport and the gym I am ready to learn more.

I’ve no idea how far this will go but I do know that my training routine has changed for ever and for the better.

Here are 5 things I’ve picked up...

1. Focus on the process and technique - everything else will come from that.
2. Chalk and wrist wraps DO make a difference and aren’t expensive.
3. There are a lot of people in and around the CrossFit community who are willing to help and offer advice - just reach out.
4. Competition comes in many forms and it drives performance - time against yourself, online comps, the wife!
5. Patios are not meant for dropping weights on 😳

Feed the good wolf... love it!

There are two wolves in everyone the good positive one and the bad negative one. The winner is the one you feed!

To think a couple of months ago I’d never attempted a Squat Clean.

Now thanks to the barbell and plates from . Yesterday I hit 100kg - there is plenty more on the tank - despite the wobbly knee.

Having watched this video back I think some proper coaching might be in order to sort that technique out - why can’t I get my elbows up???

2 recent additions to my workout kit, which I’m loving... Nike Metcon 5’s and wrist wraps - what a difference these have made.

Can’t believe I haven’t used wraps before.

Beautiful down by the lake today.... took a nice stroll though the woods with the family before a quick 12-9-6 overhead squats, 12-9-6 over the bar burpees x 3 rounds.
