***** Our Big, Final Thank You Party – Monday 20th September 2021 *****

Welcome to Club Masemba. This will be our last night and Lisa, Mary and Antonio want to celebrate with everyone that has supported the Club.

We will start the night at 7.45pm with an ’I’ve forgotten everything’ Kizomba class. No worries if it has been months and months since you’ve danced and a feeling a little rusty. Lisa and Antonio will refresh your memories and get you all connected again.

Social dancing from 8.45pm until midnight, with music provided by the awesome DJ Visser.

Entry to the Party costs Β£10

***** COVID-19 – DOOR ENTRY POLICY *****

Please do your test and obtain the result before you come to Club Masemba. Do not bring your test with you!
Tests are available from:
β€’ A pharmacy
β€’ A community centre, such as a library
β€’ Covid test centres
β€’ In advance from https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

***** The Venue (in case you have forgotten) ***
The venue is the St. Albans Irish Club, Cotlandswick, North Orbital Road, London Colney, AL2 1DW. We have a lovely wooden dance floor, bar and plenty of room. This venue is perfect for Kizomba!
The Club is off the A414 North Orbital Road, heading from Hatfield to Hemel Hempstead (West). When you exit the five-way St. Albans/London Colney roundabout we will be the first turning on the left. Take it slow, or you may miss it!
There is a lay-by first, then you'll see a sign for Sports Grounds. That is the lane you want. If you get as far as Shenley Lane (B5378) you have gone too far. The Club car park is down the lane on the right-hand side.

If you have any questions about this party night, please contact Antonio on 07980 008459 or email [email protected].

Looking forward to seeing you on Monday!

You know that thing you keep putting off because you just don’t want to do it? πŸ’”

Firstly we’d like to thank you for all your love and support over the past 4 years, especially the 3 years as Club Masemba πŸ’œπŸ§‘ It has exceeded all expectations…

Wish we were bringing you better news after all this struggle, but, with a heavy heart and lots of tears, we must announce that we will not be continuing our lovely Kizomba club 😒😒

Antonio has decided, with regret, to stop teaching. The last 17 months has taken its toll on us all. He, like many, has taken the time to reflect on priorities in life. As you can imagine, Mary and I tried our best to persuade Antonio to continue. We did all but beat him (still considering that πŸ€”)

You hear people use terms like great vibe and lovely family atmosphere a lot, but we really did have something special. πŸ’ž Everyone who was part of it, for even a little while, knows just what we mean. No cliques, no β€˜us and them’ and no egos. Mary and I have racked our brains for a solution, but we realise that it would be impossible to replace or replicate.

There is a significant amount of preparation and commitment involved in running the club to deliver a consistently good standard of lessons each week. Antonio and I shared the same views on this. We had the same appetite and energy to make it happen and I could not settle for anything less 😏

Each week was a wonderful reminder of the best side of human nature. All the new friendships and connections made have been incredible! We will miss all the laughs, your dedication to the classes and all your smiles. We will treasure all the wonderful memories as we hope you will too! πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜

Antonio, Mary and I would like to thank others you have contributed greatly to the club. Michelle Miles and Tony Smith, who taught our beginners with enthusiasm. And, of course, a very important member, Nicola Kelly-Swan, who kept us nourished 🍰 each and every week!!

We will be saying a proper goodbye with a BIG MONDAY NIGHT THANK YOU PARTY. So Antonio is not off the hook quite yet!! We will confirm the date for the PARTY soon. πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆπŸ’ƒπŸΌπŸ•ΊπŸΎπŸ˜˜ We very much hope that you will be able to make it! πŸ’œπŸ§‘
