After the excitement of last month’s (and a less than convincing 5k a couple of weeks ago) it was time to dust off my (kinda) famous sub-7 Sawe beaters and try again. Pleased to say all went well and it was a lovely sunny run by the canal. I might even do it again in a couple of days?! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Always pleased to welcome new followers to the sh*tshow. Prepare to be underwhelmed. Perhaps I’ll even do some running if you’re really lucky!

32 years today since I lost my mum. (Mummy Runster)?

I think losing Mum was probably the beginning of this whole long-distance running silliness for me. Back in 1994 I ran a 10k in aid of The Christie hospital wanting to pull something positive from the sadness. I never imagined then that decades later it would lead to marathons, charity fundraising and countless miles spent thinking, reflecting and remembering.

Every medal, every finish line and every charity mile has a little bit of her in it. ❤️

And before anyone asks… yes, I’m taking a day off running today. Which, to be fair, is usually a decision I can arrive at within about 4 seconds on any normal day anyway 🤣

New distance PB for the year at a heady 8.5 miles on Sunday. Yes, EIGHT POINT FIVE. That’s basically ultra-marathon territory in Tubby Runster world.

Rewarded myself immediately with two pints (the run finished at a pub, whatcha gonna do huh)?

Winter sunshine was glorious, pace was leisurely and I now firmly believe beer could be classed as fuel but that thinking has previously got me in a pickle.
