Three lessons I wish I knew sooner 😲⁠

1️⃣ Quality over quantity gives more depth - ⁠
Quality takes time, & this is something which has taken time to get used to. As I’ve gotten older my friendship circle has gotten smaller & I am not sad about it. I know that I have much deeper connections with my closest friends & that means a lot more to me than having 100 acquaintances ⁠

2️⃣ Own your responsibilities -⁠
A super important one, don’t get revenge on others for what you have been through. I’ve learnt to ensure I have processed & healed past trauma before putting myself back into situations where I could hurt others or indeed myself again from the exact same thing. ⁠
You’ll never have control of your future if you let the past dictate you ⁠

3️⃣ You can let others down to be happy - ⁠
Think, is what I’m saying yes to aligned to my values/goals & will it fulfill me? ⁠
As much as you may not want to believe this, others think about themselves more than they do you. So a lot of the time the things we do just to make others happy, won’t be reciprocated. The sooner you realise & remember that the happier you’ll be - think about it, when you people please, you don’t make yourself happy ✨

Friday reflections ✨

What a week, as some of you may know mindset coaching is my passion project, my full time role currently is as an events manager & what a week it has been.

First live on-site 2 day event in Manchester followed by a return to the office & full steam ahead on planning for upcoming October live events (plus some virtual).

During my on-site in Manchester I went to as
1. I needed some motivation
2. I needed a good coffee & I had heard about the stuffed cookies (oh my gosshhh 🤤😍)

My two roles are extremely different - International (when the world allows) Events Manager & Mindset Coach 🤍 both bring me great joy, but there is something SO incredibly special about coaching which I fall more & more in love with every single day.

I have so much love & respect for my clients - each & every one of you are overcoming obstacles to make you stronger daily & I couldn’t be more in awe of the work you put in 🥰

It also reminds me how grateful I am to have such strong beautiful women around me who I can support through their own development journies to stronger mindsets 💗

Walking into mid-week…this is such an interesting thought to think someone will have the most amazing day of their life, someone is about to experience breakthrough, empowerment, love, kindness for the first time.

📣 Feeling very proud of what I have achieved so far as a mindset coach since qualifying in January & I am absolutely going to shout about it 📣

As women, we may be led to believe by society that to be feminine is to be reserved, nurturing, receptive, grateful etc.
On the flip side to be masculine is to be logical, confident, focused, strong, stable, assertive & goal driven…

Girls am I hearing you say to yourself that you’re both feminine and masculine?
…Well you 100% should!! 🙌🏽

It’s great when we see a man shout about his goals, smashing targets, driven to achieve but it is GREATER when us women step out of the box we may have been led to believe we belong in & also show those traits.

This week, I confirmed as a new coach for & I couldn’t be more excited!! This is huge for me, this is a big step in my mindset coaching journey where I can share masterclasses, tips, tricks & what I’ve learnt so far with strong, independent & ambitious females.
I absolutely adore helping women realise their potential & set out to achieve their goals by making some alterations & transformations to their mindset 💜

Why is self approval so hard? 🙄

Self approval is something I’ve struggled with from as far back as I can remember, as a child I was always looking for someone to see what I was doing waiting to hear ‘well done’ and I can openly admit that even into adult life I’d been looking for approval wether from work or personal life.

I was scared and uncomfortable knowing the real me and just doing what I wanted to do regardless of what others thought.

Initially I thought that this was ‘selfish’ and wasn’t ‘putting others first’ but what this actually is = disrespect to myself.

People pleasing isn’t smart, it’s not nice to do to yourself. And boyyyy did I try and people please 🤦🏻‍♀️

Who’s with me⁉️

👉🏽 Putting your own happiness first isn’t selfish, it’s actually respectable on such a high level!

When you find self approval, you find self love again
✨ You feel good about who you truly are
✨ You live by your worth
✨ You only surround yourself with people who truly love you AND those who deserve your time

📣 Repeat after me; “Change is GOOD, progress is IMPOSSIBLE without change” 📣

This is me feeling my happiest most recently, I felt present in the moment I felt things had aligned and my gosshhh was it beautiful!

Once I decided to step out of my comfort zone and start my own business my mindset completely changed, my priorities changed and I started to grow into the person I’ve always wanted to be. I am still very much growing, this is just the start.

The only way you’re able to change something is to take action 🙌🏽

❓Are you a validation seeker ❓
❓Do you feel the need to always get things right ❓

Honest moment; I find this one really challenging to remain out of.

Wether it’s from a boss at work, a ‘ooh nice choice’ from a friend or ‘you look beautiful’ from a partner, I find myself falling into the trap of waiting for someone to validate what I’m doing ✅

This is SO common and comes from the need as a child to have things confirmed, for example ‘you’re such a good girl’ or ‘wow that was brilliant’ is what we waited to hear when you you’ve shown your family the same dance routine for the 500th time 💃🏻

Looking for validation is a bad habit I am trying to shake 💪🏽

One thing I have worked a hell of a lot on & got better at is believing in myself 💫

Lots of deep inner work, changing my mindset & self development have allowed me to become the confident, self assured version of me that I want to be.

Don’t get me wrong, there are times when I feel myself falling back & resistance when I push against my internal barriers. Some days I wake up full of anxiety & self doubt, but thankfully I now have the inner strength & knowledge to push back at these obstacles & remind myself who the f*** I am 💁🏻‍♀️

We all have wants, needs and limits in different areas of our lives. Identifying your boundaries is the first step to being able to set & maintain healthy boundaries. ⁠⁠

Do not EVER feel bad or selfish for setting boundaries. These are limits that help you to live a happy life within your means. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
❌ Rigid boundaries can look like avoiding intimacy, constantly feeling worried or anxious, difficulty asking for help or being overly cautious. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
〰️ Loose boundaries look like people taking advantage of you, people pleasing & being dragged into emotional situations you don’t want to be in. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
✅ Healthy boundaries look like not compromising your values, sharing in an appropriate & balanced way, knowing & communicating your needs with friends, family & loved ones. ⁠⁠
