โญ๏ธ Kickboxing superstar Rico Verhoeven has earned recognition from two major boxing sanctioning bodies following his high-profile clash with unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. Despite falling short in his challenge for three world titles, the Dutchman impressed enough to secure places in both the WBC and WBA heavyweight rankings.

Verhoeven now sits at No. 8 in the latest WBC heavyweight rankings and No. 15 in the WBA standings, marking a significant step in his transition from kickboxing to professional boxing ๐ŸฅŠ

Anthony Joshuaโ€™s amateur debut is one of the craziest boxing throwbacks because he started the sport incredibly lateโ€”at 18 years old in 2008.

His first amateur opponent was Nathan Brede, who later recalled facing a complete beginner who was already unusually athletic, powerful, and physically imposing. The fight took place in 2008, long before anyone imagined Joshua would become an Olympic gold medalist and heavyweight world champion.

What makes the story remarkable is how fast Joshua improved. Within just a few years, he went from a novice boxer to British champion, World Championship silver medalist, and then Olympic gold medalist at the 2012 London Games.

Many great boxers start as children. Joshua started at 18 and still reached the top of the sport, which is one reason his rise is considered so unusual.

The smaller boxing events stole the spotlight with knockouts, as Week 22 KOโ€™s came by the hands of:

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท Braian Ariel Arguello
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Charlie Sheehy
๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ท Giovan Jesus Melendez Delgado
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Ruben Cazales
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Deangelo Evans

In Argentina it was Braian Ariel Arguello who stole the show in Buenos Aires with a beautiful one punch knockout in his rematch against Neri Cruz.

In Houston we saw Charlie Sheehy steal the show in the co-main event for Foster vs Ford. The American prospect dominated Nike Therapy and finished it beautifully on the ropes.

In Puerto Rico it was Giovan Jesus Melendez Delgado who fought an overmatched opponent and showed there are levels to this game with this beautiful ending.

Then at last we head to Long Beach California for two beautiful knockouts on one show. Deangelo Evans started the show with a beautiful right hook to put out his opponent. And after that it was Ruben Cazales who stayed undefeated by knocking out his Argentine opponent later in the show.

What was your favourite?

A stacked card in Japan and intriguing clashes all around the world. Check out the top 5 fights to look out for ๐ŸฅŠ

๐Ÿ“ Aichi, Japan
๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ Luis Nery (37-2) vs ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ John Riel Casimero (35-5-1)

A stacked card takes place in Japan this weekend. Fans of the lighter weight classes should keep an eye on this superb event, headlined by Kenshiro Teraji defending his title against Mexican contender Cristian Calixto, while Willibaldo Garcia also puts his belt on the line against Jason Moloney. However, the fight generating the most headlines is this clash between two boxing bad boys. Both fighters were previously banned from competing in Japan due to their behaviour, but now they finally meet in the ring. As always, both men will be hunting for the knockout, so expect fireworks.

๐Ÿ“ Sheffield, England
๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Josh Padley (18-1) vs ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Aqib Fiaz (14-1)

There were supposed to be two world title fights in Sheffield, but after Dalton Smith and Galal Yafai were forced to withdraw through injury, it is now Josh Padley who headlines the card. He will defend his European title against fellow Briton Aqib Fiaz.

๐Ÿ“ Tashkent, Uzbekistan
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Shohjahon Ergashev (26-2) vs ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Batyrzhan Jukembayev (24-1)

An under-the-radar fight takes place in Uzbekistan as two of the best super lightweights from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan collide. Both come from proud boxing nations, both suffered their only defeats against elite opposition such as Subriel Matias, both possess serious knockout power, and both are chasing one final world title opportunity.

๐Ÿ“ Montreal, Canada
๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ช Albert Ramirez (22-0) vs ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Lerrone Richards (19-1)

Canada hosts a card packed with top prospects. Knockout artist Orobio and Imam Khataev are among the standout names, but the headline fight belongs to Albert Ramirez. The Venezuelan has steadily established himself as a leading contender at light heavyweight and now faces the toughest test of his career against former IBO champion Lerrone Richards, who moves up in weight looking to prove he still belongs among the elite.

๐Ÿ“ Bournemouth, England
๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Chris Billam-Smith (21-2) vs ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Ryan Rozicki (21-1-1)

England also hosts Zuffa Boxingโ€™s debut event in the country. The American-based promotion launches its UK campaign with hometown favourite Chris Billam-Smith taking on Canadian contender Ryan Rozicki. This promises to be an all-action war, and with the Bournemouth crowd behind him, Billam-Smith should enjoy tremendous support.

Which fight are you most looking forward to this weekend? ๐Ÿ‘‡
