Looking at the numbers, this is a very interesting comparison because both players finished with 25 goal contributions in all competitions, but they arrived there in different ways.

For me, Morgan Gibbs-White looks like the stronger scorer and more secure passer. He gives you more goals, better pass accuracy, a stronger long-ball profile, better cross accuracy, and more aerial presence. That points to a player who can hurt you with final actions but also keep the ball cleaner in possession.

Morgan Rogers, however, looks like the more dynamic all-round attacking midfielder. He has more assists, more key passes, more big chances created, more successful dribbles, more tackles, and more interceptions. That tells me he is more involved across different phases of the game: carrying, creating, pressing and recovering.

So the simple read is this:

Gibbs-White gives you sharper output and cleaner passing. Rogers gives you more creativity, ball-carrying and two-way involvement.

Both are quality profiles, but if Chelsea want a more explosive, multifunctional attacking midfielder for a fluid system, Rogers has the broader profile. If the priority is a more direct scorer and secure final-third decision-maker, Gibbs-White has a very strong case.

If Andrea Cambiaso's rumours are true, then it's certain we are going to play 3 at the back system with wing-backs.

He's an amazing, creative wing-back but an average full-back. His strength is in attack.

"But Cambiaso is defensively poor". I already know that. He's likely going to give more in attack than in defense. I believe Alonso knows that too.

That's why he's a specialist wing-back, not a full-back. He's like Grimaldo and Cancelo defensively. They have defensive lapses but will contribute a lot in possession and in attack. As a coach, you have to find the right balance to cover those defensive shortcomings.

If you play with three center-backs, you have to be adventurous in wing-back positions, or else it will become too defensive.

But I trust Alonso. He transformed Grimaldo, who was terrible defensively, and no big club wanted to take him from Benfica. So, I believe he has a plan for Cambiaso.
