Last year, I experienced sciatic nerve pain and learnt firsthand how intense it can be and how much it can affect everyday life.

Many women in my yoga classes tell me about lower back pain, and some also experience sciatica. Today, I’m sharing two exercises I regularly practise myself and include in my classes, adapting them to each woman’s needs.

Consistency matters when caring for your body, but choosing a practice that suits you matters even more. Move gently, without forcing, and don’t feel you need to match someone else’s range of movement.

Save this for later ❤️

⚠️ If you have lower back pain or symptoms of sciatica, check with a doctor or physiotherapist before trying these exercises, as they may not suit everyone. Stop if a movement causes pain or makes it worse.

Many people come to my Grief Movement sessions for the first time unsure what to expect. Afterwards, they often tell me how powerful it felt to give their emotions space to move.

This shoulder practice is one of my favourites. Somatically, the shoulders can be a place where we hold fear, trauma, anger and pain. When we’re grieving, it can feel as though we’re carrying a heavy backpack of emotions. Our shoulders tense, our bodies hunch forward, and that tension can hurt physically too.

In Grief Movement, we gently notice what we’re carrying. Through movement, breath and sound, we make space to feel our emotions and begin to release some of that tension. You don’t need to explain your grief or find the right words. You can simply come as you are.

If you’re in London, I’m now offering Grief Movement sessions at different locations. Send me a message and I’ll share the details.

Many of you have also asked for an online option. I’ll be offering Grief Movement online soon, so stay tuned. 🙏🏼

We regularly receive such beautiful feedback and testimonials from women across our growing community of over 250 women, and every message reminds us why creating these spaces matters so much. 🤍

At Breathe.Move.Heal CIC, we bring women together every quarter through our Community Women’s Gatherings, welcoming spaces where women can connect, share, feel heard and build meaningful relationships.

For women navigating grief, loss, life transitions or emotional challenges, community and connection can be especially important. We want women to feel less alone in their grief, less isolated in what they are going through, and more connected to others who understand.

Our gatherings are also an opportunity for us to listen. We want to hear directly from women about what they need, what supports them, what challenges them and what they would like to see within their community. Their voices help us shape and grow the work we do.

Because sometimes healing begins with connection — with being heard, feeling that you belong, and realising: “I’m not the only one.” 🙌

🍂 We gather women every quarter, and our next Community Women’s Gathering is coming this autumn.

More details very soon.

A simple Qigong practice you can do every day - body tapping. 🌿

Start with your arms, tapping from the shoulders down to your hands and fingers. Continue across the chest and ribs, gently over the abdomen, then the sides and lower back. Finish by tapping down the legs.

Tapping provides gentle sensory stimulation, warms the body, supports local circulation and helps bring your attention out of your thoughts and back into your body.

In Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine, tapping is traditionally used along the body’s meridian pathways to support the flow of Qi - vital energy.

✨ Keep it rhythmic and comfortable, never painful.

✨ Be especially gentle around the abdomen and behind the knees.

✨ A few minutes is enough.

When you finish, pause. Notice the warmth, tingling, relaxation or sense of energy in your body.

Tap → breathe → feel → continue with your day. 🌿

Save this practice and try it tomorrow morning.

Living With Loss: Understanding Grief Workshop.

Hosted by Breathe.Move.Heal CIC as part of our monthly Grief Café

Grief is a natural response to loss, change, and life transitions, yet many of us are never taught how to understand it or move through it with compassion.

Living With Loss is a free, welcoming workshop offering space to gently explore grief in all its forms. Together we will look at emotional responses, types of grief, and supportive coping tools for healing and wellbeing.

Grief can come through many experiences, including:
• Bereavement and death
• Relationship breakdown or divorce
• Immigration and separation from loved ones
• Loss of health, identity, or independence
• Parenting challenges or diagnosis
• Caring for a child with additional needs
• Loss of dreams, work, or stability
• Life transitions and emotional overwhelm

Whatever your experience, you are welcome here.

A compassionate space where grief is acknowledged, honoured, and held with care.

Dear lovely ladies,

I have exciting news, in June, July and September I will be holding a space for grief - I will be facilitating a Grief Movement workshop . You asked me to start offering grief movement sessions at Poplar Union, we have created this opportunity for you.

The workshop will offer a safe space for women to move through emotions that often stay quietly stored in the body – unspoken grief, tender memories, and feelings that sometimes feel too heavy to carry alone.

Important note: any type of grief and loss is welcome, not only death of loved one 🙏🏼.

Grief doesn’t only live in the mind; it lives in our muscles, our breath, and our hearts. Through gentle movement, breath, and embodied practices, we create space to release what weighs us down, to soften the tension we hold, and to honour our stories with compassion.

In collaboration with we are inviting you to monthly grief movement workshops:

✨ This women-only workshop is a safe and supportive space.

✨ No previous experience is needed – just come as you are, with an open heart.

🕒 2 - hour workshop – once a month June, July and September.

Together, we will move, breathe, and allow what needs to be felt to gently shift.

If you are longing for a space to be held, to release, and to reconnect with yourself, I warmly invite you to join us.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out 🙏🏼🧘🏻‍♀️

Eid al-Adha Mubarak to everyone celebrating today.🤲🏻✨

While Eid is a beautiful and meaningful time, it can also bring up deep emotions and memories, especially when we are far away from our loved ones or grieving those we have lost.

I always feel homesick during important celebrations like this because my extended Tajik family is so far away. And if you are feeling the same, missing home, missing family, or carrying grief in your heart, please be gentle with yourself today.

You are not alone, and I’m sending you so much love and warmth ❤️

Big hugs
