Dhaka Rangers VS FLOW CC Match report
National Cricket League - Championship Division
It was a fantastic day for FLOW CC 1st XI as we delivered a complete team performance and secured a brilliant victory to go top of the table with full 25 points.
Batting first, Arif gave us a flying start, scoring 18 runs in the opening over and setting the tone perfectly. Then Vibes and Joni built an outstanding partnership, batting together for nearly 21 overs and putting the opposition under immense pressure. Vibes played a superb innings of 74 runs, while Joni showed his class from the very beginning and stayed at the crease from the 7th over until the 38th.
Today, Joni proved exactly why we trust him so much. He made everyone proud with a breathtaking knock of 140 runs from just 90 balls. He gave the opposition absolutely no chance and controlled the innings brilliantly. What an innings.
In the final few overs, everyone went out with positive intent. Adnan and Divyanshu added quick cameos to finish strongly as FLOW CC 1st XI posted a massive 336/5 in 40 overs.
Credit to our opponents as well, our friendly foes who always compete with great spirit and mutual respect. Ashik was outstanding for them, while Shadon and Javed batted really well during the chase. Despite their efforts, they were bowled out for 236 runs while chasing 336.
With the ball, Yasir started brilliantly with the new ball, but once again our trump card Shaveen showed why he never disappoints us. He picked up 4 wickets and completely destroyed their middle order. Shimul also did a great job in his 5-over spell, taking important wickets at crucial moments. Umesh and Anis controlled the middle overs nicely, while Adnan and Divyanshu finished things professionally.
It was truly a complete team effort and a day full of enjoyment, energy, and great cricket. FLOW CC 1st XI are now the table toppers. Let’s keep this momentum going, boys!

The innings started with strong contributions from Vibes and Adnan, but the team soon faced a massive challenge, losing five wickets for just three runs in the middle order.
The Recovery
In a vital display of disaster recovery, Shimul and Shaveen steadied the ship, with Shimul providing exceptional batting throughout the crisis. NCL T20 cup match report:
Under a blazing Sunday sun, cricket lovers were treated to pure drama as West Essex CC locked horns with Fearless Lions of West Ham in a thriller that refused to let hearts settle—even for a moment.
Winning the toss and choosing to bat, West Essex CC walked in with confidence, but the innings quickly turned into a battle for survival. The Lions’ bowlers came out breathing fire—tight lines, sharp fielding, and relentless pressure. Just as partnerships threatened to build, wickets tumbled. Despite flashes of resistance, West Essex could only muster 125 for 6 in their 20 overs—a total that felt competitive, yet far from safe.
The bowling heroes for the Lions set the tone early—Shihab and Tahbib chipped in with crucial breakthroughs, but it was Sajib who stole the spotlight with a sensational spell, ripping through the lineup with 4 wickets for just 15 runs. A performance that screamed dominance.
Then came the chase—and what a start it was! Juwel exploded out of the gates, smashing 16 runs in the very first over and instantly shifting the momentum. Ahad added valuable runs, keeping the scoreboard ticking. But just when it seemed like the Lions would cruise, West Essex roared back into the contest with a flurry of wickets, tightening the noose and dragging the game into deep waters.
Enter Shafath.
Calm. Composed. Unshaken.
While chaos unfolded around him, Shafath anchored the innings with a masterclass in pressure batting, crafting a brilliant unbeaten 48*. The match teetered on a knife’s edge as it came down to the final over—14 runs needed.
First ball—BOOM! Shafath launches it into the stands.
The pressure eases… slightly.
With Shihab by his side, the Lions chipped away, collecting 11 runs off the first five balls. Now it all came down to the last delivery. 3 runs needed. One ball. Silence across the field.
The bowler runs in… delivers a full toss on Shihab’s hips—
AND HE SWINGS!
SIX!
Pandemonium erupts. Teammates storm the field. The Fearless Lions of West Ham pull off a sensational victory, finishing on 129 for 6 and clinching their first NCL T20 win in unforgettable fashion.
This wasn’t just a win—it was a statement. A triumph of belief, courage, and nerves of steel.
Shafath, for his ice-cool brilliance under pressure, deservedly takes home the Man of the Match award.
Special appreciation to Leon, Jahid, Tarikul, and Gias for their support from the sidelines—it mattered a lot.
And a big congratulations to second team inaugural captain Ahmed Faruqee on leading his side to their first league cup victory—a moment to remember!

FLOW CC enjoyed an outstanding preseason this year. Building on last season’s success in the Ekota Cup, where we finished as champions, the club returned with even greater momentum. Both our 1st and 2nd XIs competed across the Ekota Cup Saturday and Sunday leagues, with contributions from all three squads.
In the final match FLOW CC VS Seven Kings CC, FLOW CC decided to bat first and scored 213 runs. In return Seven Kings bowled out for 135 runs and FLOW CC 1st XI secure the victory. Day before FLOW CC 2 secured a unbelievable 1 run victory against Ekota CC.
The results speak for themselves. We won every match and finished as unbeaten champions in both leagues. Securing two trophies before the season has properly begun is a significant achievement and a real boost for the team moving forward.
There were some excellent individual and team performances along the way. Adnan Islam led the scoring charts with an impressive 308 runs. Ali Ahmad was named Impact Player of the Tournament for his standout contributions. The team also posted a remarkable highest total of 486 runs.
We would like to thank every player who took part for their hard work, commitment, and dedication throughout the preseason.
Now the focus shifts to the NCL season, beginning with today’s T20 Cup match where our 2nd XI will take the field. We wish them the very best. Good luck as well to our 3rd XI squads as they begin their NCL league campaign from 3rd May.
Some Highlights photos from the matches we played.
What a start of the season. FLOW CC Ekota Cup 2026 Saturday and Sunday Champion.

EKOTA XI vs FLOW CC 2nd XI, Ekota spring cup
What a game—one that went right down to the wire and was decided by just a single run.
Batting first, we put in a strong performance led by Adnan Islam Shahad, who played an amazing innings of 81 off 36 balls. He set the tone early with aggressive stroke play and gave us the momentum we needed. Tarikul Islam built on that platform with a composed 62, while Ahmed Faruqee (26) and Umesh Elumalai (20) added valuable runs to push us to a competitive total. In hindsight, those extra contributions proved crucial in a match decided by the narrowest of margins.
Defending the score, we knew it would take a complete team effort. Khuram Barvi almost took the game away from us with a magnificent 100, showing great control and power throughout his innings. He was well supported by Hridoy Paul (71), and together they brought their team very close to the target with a crucial partnership.
However, the turning point came through persistence with the ball. Ahmed Faruqee and Tariqul Islam delivered key breakthroughs at important moments, while the rest of the bowling unit held their nerve under immense pressure. In the final stages, it was disciplined bowling and tight fielding that made the difference, as we managed to restrict them just short of the target.
The fielding effort in the closing overs was especially commendable—every run saved mattered, and in the end, that’s exactly what separated the two sides. Joni was a key component of the fielding while wicket keeping during the match.
In the last over, when only 4 runs were required to win, Tariqul provided a masterful spin bowling display, giving only 2 runs in his first ball and none in the last five balls. Due to Tariqul’s key performances across the batting, bowling and bowling, he was rightly na
Matches like this are what cricket is all about.
A one-run victory is always special—it shows character, belief, and the ability to handle pressure. We’ll take great confidence from this win and look to carry this momentum forward.
