We’ve made a fantastic start — over 5,000 people have already signed our petition calling for VAT on children’s indoor play to be reduced from 20% to 0%.

But now we need EVERYONE in our industry to get behind it.

We need to reach 10,000 signatures to trigger a Government response — and we won’t get there unless we all keep pushing.

💜 WE NEED YOUR HELP – PLEASE SIGN & SHARE!💜

As many of you know, running an indoor play centre has become increasingly challenging, with the cost of almost everything continuing to rise.

We always want The Beach Hut to remain an affordable place where families can come to play, meet friends, make memories and enjoy time together – but indoor play currently has to charge 20% VAT on admissions.

The Association of Indoor Play is campaigning for the Government to introduce 0% VAT on children’s indoor play, helping venues like ours keep prices affordable for families while continuing to provide safe, welcoming spaces for children. 🛝💜

A petition has now been launched and we really need your support.

✍️ 10,000 signatures = the Government must respond
🏛️ 100,000 signatures = it can be considered for debate in Parliament

It takes just a couple of minutes to sign, but if enough parents, grandparents, carers, staff and supporters of indoor play get behind it, it could make a huge difference to our industry and to families like yours.

🚨 PLEASE DO NOT SIGN THIS PETITION…

…if you think your child’s play should carry 20% VAT.

Don’t sign it if you think running, climbing, exploring, socialising and simply being a child should be taxed at the same rate as many non-essential purchases.

And definitely don’t sign it if you think it makes perfect sense that indoor play admissions are charged 20% VAT, while many other activities enjoyed by children are treated differently.

BUT….. if, like us, you think play matters — and that keeping it affordable for families matters too — then you might want to do the exact opposite. 😉

KEEP PLAY AFFORDABLE - SIGN OUR PETITION

This summer, hundreds playcentres across the UK supported the *Great British Summer Savings scheme* which via a 15% VAT reduction enabled indoor playcentres to offer discounts and special deals to help families enjoy affordable days out.

But keeping play affordable shouldn’t just be a summer initiative.

That’s why the Association of Indoor Play is campaigning for 0% VAT on indoor play admissions.

Indoor play gives children safe, year-round spaces to be active, socialise and develop – and we believe every family should be able to access it.

Reducing VAT from 20% to 0% on children’s play would help keep prices affordable, support families and encourage more children to get active.

Don't Forget Children and Families, Says Association of Indoor Play as it Launches Campaign for 0% VAT on Children's Play

The Association will shortly launch a national petition, inviting parents, grandparents, carers and supporters from across the UK to call on Parliament to make children's indoor play admissions permanently zero-rated for VAT.
