Semedo and Ronaldo met in Sporting Lisbon’s academy, where they grew to be the best of friends. However, their talents lay at opposite ends of the spectrum and Sporting made the decision to let Semedo go.

However, Ronaldo was insistent that Semedo stays, threatening to leave as well. It was a sign of how valued Ronaldo’s precocious talents were that Sporting Lisbon’s directors agreed to let Semedo continue with the club.

"He said they could put an extra bed in his room and that we could share a cupboard for his clothes. He said that if I went, he would too. The place I am from in Setubal is not a good place for a young man. A lot of my friends from there were involved in crime. Some of them are dead now, or in jail.” said Semedo in a interview with The Times.

Nowadays, José Semedo has retired from professional football and works at the scouting department of Al Nassr.

Tinubu Presidency: Nigeria will witness rapid advancement & development under Tinubu's Presidency- Engr Favour

A Chairmanship Aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, for the forthcoming local government elections in Ondo State, Engr Temitope Ajayi Favour has said that President Bola Tinubu will stabilise the polity, address the many discerning inequity, unfairness, intolerance, and injustices across the country and ultimately put Nigeria on the path of steady progress with every component that makes up the country feeling a sense of belonging.

Engr. Temitope Favour is the President of Association of Mobile Phone Technician in Ondo State and he is contesting for the Chairmanship in Ifedore local government area of the state.

In a statement by him on Monday after the swearing in of the new President, said the combination of Tinubu/ Shettima will liberate Nigerians from the economic challenges and set Nigeria on the path of economic prosperity. He stated that with a man like Tinubu at the helm of affairs, the country will go places.

He added that Tinubu is a man who understands the dynamics and needs of the country.

"Tinubu is a man of many first. He was the first governor to grant autonomy to the House of Assembly and create local government when he was the governor in Lagos. He did this far before the clamour for it by other states of the federation.

"I have no doubt in my mind that the menace of banditry, kidnapping and terrorism "ll be tackled headlong by the government of Tinubu and subdued forever"

"He 'll set the country on the path of massive infrastructural development, peace and unity"

"We must ensure the government of Tinubu succeeds and it is my candid opinion that all Nigerians must offer advice and even contribute their quota to the government"

He also congratulates the People's Governor, Arakunri Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and all indigenes of Ondo State and leaders of the party in Ifedore local government for their efforts towards the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Engr Favour opined that if greatness came merely by speaking of it, Nigeria under Asiwaju Bola Tinubu would be among the greatest nations in human history.
