Ever feel like your mind is constantly racing with ideas, making it hard to fit into just one path or way of doing things?🚨🚨🚨
For years, I didn’t understand why I thought and acted the way I did. My mind was always buzzing with ideas, and I seemed to have endless energy to explore new interests.
As a child, I was naturally curious and rarely satisfied with a single routine or approach. Instead, I would imagine different possibilities and eagerly explore them.
Medical school gave me the structure I needed for a time, but after spending 10 years on a journey that was expected to take 7 years, I began to feel constrained. That realization led me to pursue modelling, music, and business alongside my medical career.
Psychiatry ultimately became my specialty because it offered a different perspective from other areas of medicine. Looking back, it also reflected the way I naturally think and engage with the world.
While my unconventional path has attracted criticism at times, I’ve learned to embrace who I am and trust in God’s perfect design for my life.
If any of this resonates with you, know that you are not alone.
The qualities that make you different are often the very things that make you unique. Don’t be afraid to embrace and express who you truly are.

How many men do I have on here? Say hello in the comments! 👋
The month of June is dedicated to Men’s Mental Health, and I am thrilled to announce that I will be delving into various mental health issues affecting men.
In my years of experience as a psychiatrist, I have seen how men’s mental health challenges can escalate quickly, sometimes leading to aggression and, in some cases, causing irreparable damage.
I will be discussing how mental health conditions present in men, including topics such as addiction, gambling, grief, and more.
If there are specific topics you would like me to address, please feel free to leave them in the comments section.
Happy New Month, beautiful minds!!! 🥰❤️😍
An overwhelmed mind cannot truly connect with God. If you are constantly worried about your life’s circumstances, you may miss out on God’s plans for your life.
God wants you to enjoy peace of mind, and with a still mind, you can. Sadly, not everyone is able to remain calm amidst troubles and challenges.
As a psychiatrist, believe me when I say that many of the things we worry about are anticipated scenarios that have not actually happened. Yet our brains often perceive them as real, and our bodies respond accordingly.
This results in increased stress hormones, leading to more anxiety, inflammation, and negative effects on both our mental and physical health.
In today’s video, I share what God wants you to do instead of worrying. Let me know if this resonates with you.
Share this with someone who needs it, and don’t forget to save it for yourself.
Happy Sunday, beautiful minds!!! 😍❤️🥰
Episode 16 of the Mental Health Awareness Series🚨🚨🚨
You asked me to talk about adult ADHD, so here we go. ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that begins in childhood but can be missed, which is why many people are diagnosed in adulthood.
My experience as a psychiatrist was with children and adolescents with ADHD, and at the time, back in Nigeria, I worked with severe cases of ADHD. Little did I know that it was possible to have ADHD and still function highly.
There are many highly skilled professionals and creatives with adult ADHD, myself included, and this points to the fact that ADHD can present with different levels of severity.
In today’s video, I started with the basics of ADHD, sharing the definition, symptoms, and when to get an assessment done.
If I receive good feedback on this, I will share more information about adult ADHD. So, please share your thoughts and experiences in the comments section.
Feel free to share this with someone who may benefit from it, and save it for yourself as well.

Episode 14 of the Mental Health Awareness Series 🚨🚨🚨
Let’s talk about children’s mental health. Oftentimes, I hear people say that children have nothing to worry about and, as such, they don’t have mental health issues.
As a psychiatrist who has worked closely with children and adolescents, I’ve seen that mental health challenges can affect children too.
In fact, according to the World Health Organization, 1 in 7 adolescents experiences a mental health condition.
The difficult part is that children often don’t express emotional distress the same way adults do. Their struggles can show up in subtle ways that are easy to overlook or misunderstand.
In today’s video, I talk about the often-missed signs of mental health challenges in children and share practical ways parents and caregivers can communicate more effectively with them.
If you’re a parent, caregiver, teacher, or someone who works with children, this conversation is important.

The relationship between stress and mental health is bidirectional.
Stressful life events can trigger mental health challenges and reduce overall quality of life.
On the other hand, living with mental illness can increase the burden of care and create even more stress.
As a psychiatrist, I’ve seen many people struggle with multiple mental health conditions due to the stress of managing their emotional and psychological challenges.
In today’s video, I share 5 practical ways to navigate difficult situations and protect your mental health.
If you find this helpful, kindly share it with someone who may need it, and don’t forget to save it for yourself.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve had to do to improve your capacity to grow?🚨🚨🚨
Lately, one of the biggest challenges for me has been slowing down and intentionally doing things that stretch my mind instead of staying in my comfort zone.
The other day, my daughter saw me reading a physical book and asked, “Mum, why are you suddenly so interested in reading? I hardly ever see you read books. You’re usually working on your laptop.”
Her question made me smile because she was absolutely right. I don’t usually read hard copy books, I mostly listen to audiobooks. So I showed her my Audible library, and she was genuinely impressed.
That conversation led me to explain something important to her: there’s a difference between listening to a book and sitting down to actually read one.
Reading requires focus, patience, imagination, and deeper mental engagement. It challenges the brain in a different way.
Because of my learning difficulties, reading has never come easily to me, which is exactly why I decided to start doing it more intentionally.
Sometimes growth begins with choosing to do the uncomfortable things slowly and consistently instead of avoiding them altogether.
This experience reminded me that boosting your brain health isn’t always about resting, sometimes it’s about stretching yourself, building discipline, and keeping your mind active even when it feels difficult.
I told myself: if I was able to read books to pass my exams, then I can also read to strengthen my mind, improve my focus, and continue growing.
Small intentional habits can become powerful acts of self-care.

People-pleasing is emotionally draining.🚨🚨🚨
Constantly trying to gain acceptance and approval from others can leave you exhausted and disconnected from your true self. Often, it comes from a deep desire to feel loved, valued, and accepted.
But the greatest love has already been given to us through God’s gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. You don’t have to spend your life chasing validation from people when you are already deeply loved.
The need for constant external validation can sometimes reflect low self-esteem and a lack of confidence in oneself.
In my experience as a psychiatrist, I’ve seen how this pattern is often connected to mental health struggles, including depression and anxiety.
Instead of seeking approval from everyone around you, focus on building your self-worth from within.
Believe in yourself, embrace your value, and learn to set healthy boundaries. Protecting your peace and mental health is not selfish, it’s necessary.
In the latest episode of the Becoming Whole Podcast, I share simple but effective tips for setting healthy boundaries.

If you constantly feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained, your lack of boundaries may be the reason.
Giving everyone unlimited access to you, your time, your energy, and your resources can be mentally draining and is simply not sustainable.
In my years of practice as a psychiatrist, I’ve seen how people-pleasing and a lack of boundaries can trigger mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and sleep difficulties.
Constantly giving without limits can leave you feeling overwhelmed, emotionally depleted, and disconnected from yourself.
In the latest episode of the Becoming Whole Podcast, I share simple but effective tips for setting healthy boundaries.
