Move & Connect is a monthly women’s community walk designed to bring us together through movement, fresh air and good company. It’s a chance to step away from the everyday, explore some lovely local routes and meet other women along the way.
There’s no pressure around pace or fitness level — just book, turn up, enjoy the walk, have a chat and spend some time outdoors with a friendly and supportive group. Come on your own, bring a friend (or your dog!) and let’s move and connect together.

Hola! I’m Jess — a Personal Trainer based in Kendal 👋🏼
I just thought I’d do a little introduction because… why not? This is me!
When I’m not in the gym, there’s a very good chance you’ll find me somewhere on the fells.
Over the last year and a half, hiking has become a huge part of my life. After completing the National Three Peaks Challenge, I decided my next challenge would be to complete all 214 Wainwrights — mostly getting to them by bus and train, which has turned the planning into just as much of an adventure as the walking!
Being on the fells has also changed the way I look at strength and fitness. My training in the gym has changed too. The goal now is to build the strength and endurance that allow me to go further into the fells, explore new places, take on long days out and keep doing what I enjoy the most.
And that’s a big part of what I want to help other people find too — their own reason to get stronger and a way of moving that adds something to their life.
So around here, expect plenty of strength training, walks, Wainwrights and probably quite a lot of coffee along the way ☕️⛰️
If you’re new here, say hi! And if you’re working your way through the Wainwrights too, tell me which one has been your favourite so far
Want to get stronger but not sure where to start? This is for you.
My Women’s Strength Programme is designed to help women get stronger and feel confident in the free weights area, all while being surrounded by other women who celebrate each other’s progress and lift each other up.
If you’re looking for an amazing community while getting stronger so you can live your best life, this is for you. 💜
Next programme starts 10th August.
First Aid Course… done differently. Location: the mountains 🏔️
Last weekend I did a first aid course where we talked about what to carry in our kits, worked through different emergency scenarios, and learned how to make decisions in the outdoors… all while hiking in the Peak District.
It was great to meet new people, do what I enjoy most (being on the fells) and keep improving and learning new things.
Thanks, and . What a day it was.
Strength is about so much more than lifting weights.
It’s about building confidence, supporting each other, and becoming stronger for the life you want to live.
If you’re looking for a community where you can do exactly that, we’d love to have you.

Wainwrights Without a Car: Wansfell Pike
This was my 5th Wainwright. I travelled on the 555 , which dropped me off at Ambleside Bus Interchange.
The route I took passed Stock Ghyll Force, a lovely waterfall that’s just a 10–15 minute walk from the centre of Ambleside.
Overall, the walk took me 2 hours and 26 minutes, including a few stops (mostly to take photos of the waterfall and the summit 😂).
After the walk, I stopped at , an amazing café with great views, delicious food and lovely staff. I highly recommend it if you’re looking to fuel your adventure!
Then it was back on the 555 bus to head home.
Have you done this walk before? Let me know in the comments.
Move and Connect - Number 4
We’re a group of women who like to walk outdoors at a relaxed pace, enjoy the place we get to call home and meet new people.

109 Wainwrights. 105 to go. 0 car.
I’m working my way throughout all the Wainwrights. There are 214 of them…and I have no car.
I thought I’d share some of my adventures. Maybe you’ll relate, maybe you can help.
This is my journey visiting all these amazing fells ⛰️
