6 reasons you’re not toning up šŸ‘‡šŸ¼

1. Not enough protein
No protein = no muscle. Aim for 1.6-2.2g per kg of bodyweight.

2. Too much cardio, not enough lifting
Cardio burns calories. Lifting changes your shape.

3. You’re not in a calorie deficit
ā€œToningā€ = losing fat. That requires eating less than you burn.

4. Inconsistency
2 good weeks + 2 bad weeks = no progress. It’s the most boring reason and the most common one.

5. You’re undereating overall
Chronically under-fuelling slows your metabolism and breaks down muscle. Eating less is not always the answer.

6. Poor sleep & recovery
Your body changes outside the gym. Poor sleep = poor results, full stop.

Fix one. Then the next. It’s not complicated - it’s just not always easy.

speaking on burnout, health, wellbeing and nutrition last week at a corporate event was never part of my comfort zone… I’m not a speaker, far from it 🫣 BUT the feedback from this talk from across the room full of busy professionals, some earning 6figures+, yet still not prioritising themselves and putting their health first, is really eye opening.

And I’ve been there. Corporate world, pressure, high stress, always on even when trying to sleep, constantly wired, the last goes on…

What if I actually committed to this properly. What if I stopped dipping in and out and just went all in.

And then almost immediately…what if it still doesn’t work. What if I try my hardest and it’s still not enough. What if I find out I actually can’t do it.

So you stay where you are. Safe. Comfortable. Not failing but not moving either.

I hear this from women every single week. And the thing they all have in common six months later isn’t that it was hard or that life got in the way.

It’s that they wish they’d started sooner.
