Welcome back everyone - feels like this week is getting into full swing for the year now. It's not just this year - every year is always exciting, which is what makes me wonder what this one will hold with all it's potential...A conversation I had today made me think of the nature of success - succesful people are not those who have not failed, succesful people have often failed and always got back up and gone forward wiser and stronger...fitness isn't always a straight road...but it has that character in it...we train as best we can, eat as best we can and sometimes life gets in the way - work, family, a trip or a fall can all sow us down - but nothing and no one can stop us -In January fitness will become a priority for many, where it hasnt been the rest of the year - that's not that unnatural - get in there hard and fast while it feels like a priority then switch between maintenance and forwards progress in manageable and effective ways - you'll get to 2013 in great shape - remember a puppy isnt justfor xmas and waistline isnt just for January! Happy new year
Lots planned for this year - what are your goals and resolutions ? - Happy and healthy new year all
Welcome back everyone
Looking at the news today about cancer and lifestyle. Moderate approaches are often the most challenging to get people to follow. What I mean is, we all know this - less alcohol, more exercise, more vegetables....I often think about how to do what I do better. One thing I find myself thinking about a lot is how much harder it can be to get a moderate behaviour change going than an extreme one. People like a new and extreme measure often more than The thing they have always known. Today I'm thinking about that again - how to make a moderate approach exciting.
January Prep is going very well in theory. Looking forward to seeing all the deliverables in front of us come end November. In the in between time I'm picking my weakest links and working low load on strengthening them. Mind over ego is nowhere near as easy as just banging out top intensity. Mind is winning though , was frustrating at first but now taking great pleasure from those little weak links getting stronger.
