We’re proud to share that KwikTactiX has collaborated with Major League Soccer to deliver the first-ever fully interactive “Smart” Session Plan Template, created specifically for the MLS NEXT Elite Formation Coaching License – 2025–2026 Cohort.
This template is currently being used by 24 elite coaches — one from each MLS club — as part of one of the most rigorous and respected coaching education programmes in world football.
Each candidate uses KwikTactiX to create, develop, and submit their assessment session plans for formal marking.

The MLS Elite Formation Coaching License (EFCL) candidates progress through a complete, assessment-ready coaching workflow, delivered in collaboration with the Major League Soccer and the French Football Federation (FFF).

📝 Exercise Description
This drill involves 3 teams of 6 players, supported by 6 jokers:
🔵 4 width jokers (placed on the sidelines) — wear one bib color
🟢 2 depth jokers (placed in depth) — wear a different bib color
🎯 Objective
Maintain possession with quick passing, using the jokers as support to create angles and overloads.
🏆 Scoring System
➡️ Width option:
If a team connects with one width joker, they must then connect with the opposite width joker to earn 1 point.
⬆️ Depth option:
If the team plays to one depth joker, they must then find the second depth joker to score 1 point.
🔧 Coaching Adjustments
🖐️ Touches can be limited depending on level (1-touch, 2-touch, etc.).
⏱️ Work in 2–3 minute series, adjusted to the intensity and ability of the group.

📝 Exercise Explanation (English Version)
This exercise focuses on working the defensive block against a team set up in a 3-5-2 formation.
⚪ White team = Attacking team, aiming to score.
🔵 Blue team = Defending inside the central zone, staying compact and dense.
🎯 Scoring Rules
If the white team completes two passes in the unsecured zone, they earn 1 point.
If they then score a goal, they earn an additional point.
🔵 Blue Team Objectives
🧱 Stay compact in the central zone
🗣️ Communicate constantly
⚡ Apply pressing under pressure
🔄 Recover the ball
🚀 Upon recovery, counter-attack immediately and try to score as fast as possible in the opposite goal
🔁 Exercise Format
The attacking team has 10 possessions
Then the teams switch roles and repeat the exercise in the other direction
