ABOUT THE COVER — V14N3
Russell Graves knows the value of the often-quoted proverb “patience is a virtue” better than most when attempting to capture a special image to publish. At no other time in his career of chasing bobwhite quail did he exert such effort as he did when documenting the cover photograph for this issue. When manning a water-hole blind in the heat of North Central Texas in 2024, Russell put in his hard-earned time and witnessed this male approach in a perfect line and in the best light, documenting the encounter for all of us to enjoy.
