NTT Hibiya Tower is built for 2050, a future where we’re even more connected.

Now under construction, the tower is purpose-designed around IOWN, NTT’s next-generation light-based communication technology. IOWN enables radically faster, cleaner and more responsive ways of working and living – supporting up to 125× more data, 200× lower latency and 100× lower energy use than today’s digital networks.

This creates a building where collaboration is instantaneous and borderless: adaptive workplaces, real-time hybrid spaces, immersive public areas and cultural venues that synchronise with cities across the world without delay.

As the flagship of our 1.1 million m² Tokyo Cross Park Vision, the tower sets a new benchmark for smart buildings.

We treated everything in both our old and new studios as resources, not waste.

By reusing and repurposing 92% of materials across the two spaces, we created a circular fit-out that was 68% cheaper than a typical London office – without compromising quality or design.

We were delighted to have Rob as moderator for Scaling Circularity, a discussion exploring how innovations in circular design can be implemented at all scales, from individual products to city-wide strategies.

The event, hosted in our London studio as part of ReLondon’s Circular Economy Week, featured an inspiring panel of speakers including Ron Bakker, Midori Ainoura, Amy Holtz, Marta Gonzalez-Ruiz, Michael Polisano, and Deepthi Ravi.
