I am honoured to represent Brave Parents this next 12 days at QSchool.
A small charity very close to my heart called Brave Parents (Registered Charity No. 1204544). They provide self care opportunities to parents who have children with complex medical needs. They understand how easy it is to forget about yourself when your child’s care needs are so high. Parent Carers work so hard to keep their child well that their own needs always come second. However, over time, this can have a negative impact on the mental health of the caregivers and whole family unit.
Their aim as a charity is to highlight to parent carers the importance of their own self care and provide opportunities for them to do so. These include pamper boxes, retreats, online events and classes to remind parents that it is important to consider their own needs as well as their childs and that self care is not selfish, it is essential.
They work closely with hospitals, children’s hospices and other charities to support the Parent Carers using their services. They also provide Hospital Brave Boxes which are sent directly to the hospital including both essentials and also some self care treats.
Any donation to this fabulous charity would be greatly appreciated.
