🤝 SRO GT Academy | An organisation famed for nurturing young talent will, appropriately, run GT Academy’s prize drive winners next year when the best Silver drivers from America, Asia and Australia plus British GT join forces at the world’s biggest GT race.

Best known for its success in single-seaters, Team Motopark has more recently expanded into GT racing and made its first appearance at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa this summer. It has been a Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing Team since 2023 and has also been active in International GT Open, winning the series title in 2025 and contending for a repeat this year.

But it is as a training ground for young talents that Team Motopark is best known. Max Verstappen, Valtteri Bottas, Liam Lawson, Brendon Hartley and Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Lucas Auer are just some of the drivers who cut their teeth with Timo Rumpfkeil’s squad, while many others have progressed to Formula 1, IndyCar, and the highest levels of international sportscar racing.

History in the making: the inaugural GT3 race took place 20 years ago TODAY at Silverstone where Hector Lester, Allan Simonsen and JMB Racing's Ferrari 430 became the class' first-ever winners. Andrea Ceccato and Stefano Livio (Racing Box Dodge Viper) denied the same combination a clean sweep on Sunday.

Eight manufacturers and 44 entries contested the FIA GT3 European Championship season opener, which acted as chief support to another SRO-run series: the FIA GT Championship.
