The Golf Trust is celebrating an generous contribution from Ushma Patel, Lady Captain of Purley Downs Golf Club in South London, who has raised an impressive £14,200 to support the charity’s mission of making golf accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities.

On Sunday May 10th Purley Downs ladies were victorious in the Woodcote 5s competition held at Purley. This is a scratch Stableford format involving 4 other clubs: Woodcote Park, Addington Palace, Croham Hurst and Kingswood. Purley Downs team: Deena Lofts, Lucy Chittenden, Ushma Patel, Bronia Parrey, Linda Naylor and Stella West.

Well done to everyone who played in yesterday’s first Junior Competition ⛳️👏

A brilliant day at the club yesterday as we hosted our first Junior Competition in 10 years ⛳️👏
14 of our talented juniors took part, showcasing great skill, sportsmanship, and a real passion for the game 🏌️♂️

Signing off as Lady Captain ⛳️💫
What a fun, colourful and eventful year it has been. It’s been a privilege to serve and share so many wonderful moments on and off the course.
I’m especially proud that together we raised over £14,000 for my chosen charity, The Golf Trust — an incredible achievement.
Thank you to everyone who supported, played and helped make the year so memorable.
Now it’s time to hand over the reins, with wonderful memories and a very full heart. 💚

Dry skies, mild weather and very Christmassy vibes made for the perfect day on the course. From festive outfits and fearless (sometimes dangerous 😄) shots — possibly encouraged by a few tipples — to plenty of laughter all round, it was Christmas golf at its best.
The celebrations continued indoors with glamour and glitz at lunch, fabulous company, many prizes, and lots of fun activities.
