Cambridge Career Navigation Event 🎓✨

Still reflecting on this incredible space filled with purpose, passion, and possibility. Being surrounded by individuals committed to growth, impact, and lifting others was truly inspiring.

I was amazed by the brilliance, tenacity, and excellence of the speakers — each one bringing not just knowledge, but lived experience and a deep sense of responsibility to give back. I went home energised by their dedication, not only within their organisations but in the work they continue to do beyond.

A special mention to Margaret — your heart for supporting initiatives back home that create real, lasting change for our Filipino community is powerful and deeply inspiring 🇵🇭

Spaces like this remind us why we do what we do — to grow, to serve, and to create pathways for others.

This events really drives our spirits.

From Global Dialogue to Collective Action: Why Networks Matter More Than Ever 21/03/2026

One key takeaway stood out:

👉 Our networks are not just professional circles—they are the engines of change.

From Global Dialogue to Collective Action: Why Networks Matter More Than Ever Last Tuesday, 17th March, I had the privilege of attending the Global Health Summit—an event grounded in the theme of collaboration, co-production, and strengthening health systems through global partnerships. It was a powerful gathering, but what made it particularly meaningful was that it was a d...

From global dialogue to collective action 🌍✨

Last week, I had the privilege of stepping into spaces where conversations weren’t just about ideas—but about impact, partnerships, and shared responsibility.

My latest blog reflects on a powerful truth:
👉 Networks matter now more than ever.

Not just for visibility—but for connection, collaboration, and real change. Because behind every policy, innovation, and improvement… are people working together.

In a world that’s increasingly digital, we can’t forget that meaningful relationships remain the foundation of progress

This blog is a reflection on:
🔹 Why networks are more than just connections
🔹 The role of diaspora and global voices
🔹 Moving from conversation → collective action

If you’re passionate about leadership, global health, or building meaningful partnerships—this one’s for you.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is slow down.

A short family break reminded me how important it is to pause, reflect, and refocus on what truly matters—in life and in our careers.

In my latest blog, I share why intentional reflection is so important and how creating space to think can help you move forward with clarity.

Take a moment. Reset. Refocus.

On International Women’s Day, I’m celebrating the woman who inspires me the most — my wife.

Her strength, kindness, and resilience remind me every day why the values we speak about in Wednesdays with James — equity, kindness, and respect — matter so much.

Behind every conversation about leadership and growth is the reminder that the greatest leaders often lead quietly, through love, courage, and the way they show up for others.

Today I celebrate you, and all the incredible women shaping our homes, workplaces, and communities.

Sometimes clarity about your career doesn’t come from working harder.

It comes from pausing and reflecting.

Driving along the M5 today, my wife and I started reflecting on how we got to where we are today.

She arrived in the UK on a cold November day — navigating homesickness, uncertainty, and the challenge many internationally trained nurses face when starting life here.

Many of us come with experience, knowledge, and skills.

But the real question often comes later:

What should my next move be?

Before vision, we need values.

Your values shape the decisions you make, the leadership you pursue, and the impact you want to create.

I wrote a short blog reflection about this today.

Here’s a strong Instagram caption that fits your Wednesdays with James / coaching voice—thoughtful, leadership-focused, with a clear hook + urgency + call to action.

Values Before Vision

Everyone talks about vision.

The 5-year plan.
The big promotion.
The dream career.

But very few people pause to ask a deeper question:

What values are driving the vision?

Because if your vision is built on external expectations, comparison, or pressure…
you may climb the ladder only to realise it’s leaning against the wrong wall.

Values come first.

Your values determine:
• What kind of leader you become
• What work actually fulfils you
• What opportunities you say yes (and no) to
• How you navigate growth without losing yourself

Vision without values creates noise.
Values create clarity.

If you’re feeling stuck, unsure of your next move, or navigating your next career step — sometimes what you need isn’t another plan.

You need space to think.

That’s why I’m opening a limited number of Career Navigation Conversations this month.
