A Jesuit priest, Father Gregory is the founder of Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles – the largest gang-intervention, rehabilitation, and re-entry programme in the world. This week, students from Oasis Academy Arena and Oasis Academy Coulsdon visited Parliament as part of the Government’s 'Growing Up In The Online World' national consultation.

Through our partnership with The Children's Society, our young people spent time at our London office before heading to Parliament to share their views on the opportunities and challenges of social media.

The discussion also covered issues that matter to young people locally, including e‑bike and scooter safety, school food, and the pressures surrounding exams.

Sir Lewis Hamilton visited Oasis Academy South Bank Secondary last week to hear from Oasis students, teachers and young people as part of a national campaign to reduce school exclusions.

This included a roundtable discussion including Prosper Karatunga, leader of Oasis 360 mentoring, and Sam, an Oasis Academy Arena student, who was supported by the Oasis 360 mentoring programme after moving from Nigeria three years ago.
