METABOLIC RESISTANCE TRAINING FOR FASTER FAT LOSS IN 2022




If you have been hitting the weights and cardio days but feel you have reached a plateau then you should definitely give this method a try.


Something I have been an advocate of for many years and what helped me achieve my best body is metabolic resistance training . The simplest way to employ MRT is to take the regular resistance exercises you're already doing and simply decrease your rest time between sets. make sure you maintain good form and stick with the same heavy poundage. just keep the rest periods short around 20-30 seconds max. .

You can also up the intensity increasing your output by simply upping the tempo of your exercise and decreasing the weight. i find using this method within a ‘full-body’ ‘multi joint’ workout protocol incredible for increasing lean muscle tissue and burning fat. It basically becomes your fat burning cardio via lifting weights rather than trudging on a treadmill Which means you don’t need to separate your training into lifting days and cardio days. Get inventive and choose movements that are multi joint movements like a squat - push press or clean & press, basically anything that is challenging more than one muscle group at the same time. .

Forget the new year new you BS and all these “quick fixes” full of empty promises by money grabbing inexperienced fitness trainers Instagram “influencers” And celebrities, or weight loss plans that do nothing but strip you of your hard earned muscle making your metabolism slower than a sloth on Va**um. (Imagine that for a sec). .

Instead just get active and get lifting at least 3 times a week . •Reduce carbs earlier in the day if possible •Drink plenty of water at least 1-2 glasses an hour or minimum 2 litre a day and •keep protein high. •Eat at least 3 balanced meals a day including Low G.I carbs, protein / good fats & some veggies. •Limit sugar and fizzy drinks like cola. •Include fasted cardio/workouts a minimum of twice a week (optional) (it’s very effective) and •include sprints into your weekly workouts at least 3 times a week . (Very very effective) These can be an addition to your current workout so for e.g. You train in the early a.m and throw some additional sprint work in the evening . This can be short and sweet and no longer than a 10-15 min workout pushing to maximise your efforts . Of course you don’t have to do any of that but even if it was just 1 or 2 of the above it would make a difference.

I believe that balance is key but I'm a true believer of hard work and unless you are putting in 110% into your workouts you’re just not going to see the physical results you’re looking for even if you are eating well. As I said - it's about balance so eat as consistently as you can - train well and the results will come

SUSTAINABILITY IS THE NEW SKINNY. *CHOOSE BALANCE*

We are entering into a new decade and need to flip the script on the need to be “skinny” instead, understand that in order to obtain the figure you want and this is directed at the ladies right now - you must educate yourself or be educated by a legit professional (NOT AN INFLUENCER WITH 500k FOLLOWERS DOING BAND WORKOUTS IN HER KITCHEN, NOT A CELEB OFF CORRIE AND CERTAINLY NOT ANYONE FROM LOVE ISLAND


See here’s the thing. Skinny is ‘unhealthy weight loss’ Skinny is ‘muscle loss’ Skinny is ‘water loss’ Skinny is ‘weak’ Skinny is ‘tired’ Skinny is ‘fatigue’. I could go on. Point being, with the negative effects of all of the above you are actually setting yourself up for failure. And by that I mean a life of yoyo’ing, unhealthy weight loss, weight gain, fat gain and metabolic damage.

SO what should we do ? Well the answer is CHOOSE BALANCE as simple as it sounds - balance is the key and is the answer to sustainability. Choose meals that are balanced and that support your nutritional needs for both mind and body function. We need carbs, fats, meats (yes we do) especially when it comes to essential vitamins like B12 and when wanting to build your best body. We need protein and creatine for the muscles which comes from meat. 🥩 In fact protein is by far one of THE most important things as it supports your muscle tissue & helps grow new tissue which in turn powers your internal furnace that leads to fat loss. 🔥 If you omit food groups for long periods of time then it is not sustainable. This then causes all sorts of problems and damages your metabolism. These side effects will leave you “skinny fat” . This is when you experience muscle loss lose unhealthy weight and hold on to body fat. Not a good place to be when you are looking to achieve a great and fit looking body with shape and curves. .


So with that all said . Be more mindful when embarking on your “weight loss” journey and choose a balanced “diet” enriched with all food groups and nutrients giving you the sustainable energy you need to achieve your goals. .
