📚 Aromatherapy Awareness Week – Day 4: Focus
With so many distractions in our lives (usually from our phones!), its hard to stay focused.
Whether you're preparing for an exam, writing a report, studying for a professional qualification, creating a presentation, learning a new skill, or simply trying to concentrate on an important project, focus can sometimes feel elusive.
As a former aromatherapist, I've always been fascinated by how scent can influence our state of mind. Today, as an EFT practitioner and trainer, I often combine aromatherapy with tapping to help create the conditions for greater calm, clarity and concentration.
Today's featured blend is Neal's Yard Remedies Study Remedies to Roll.
With stimulating clove, uplifting orange and clarifying rosemary, it's designed to help you feel refreshed, focused and ready for the task ahead.
My focus-boosting ritual:
* Apply the Study Remedies to Roll to your wrists or fingertips.
* Spend a few minutes tapping on any overwhelm, procrastination or mental clutter.
* Then turn your attention to the task in front of you.
It's amazing how often we don't have a focus problem—we have a stress problem. When we calm the nervous system first, concentration often follows naturally.

🌙 Aromatherapy Awareness Week – Day 3: Night Time 🌙
One of the most common things I hear from clients isn't:
"I can't sleep."
It's:
"I can't switch off."
You finally get into bed and your brain decides it's the perfect time to replay conversations, solve tomorrow's problems and remember every unfinished task.
Sound familiar?
As both an EFT practitioner and former aromatherapist, I've found that combining scent and tapping can be a wonderful way to create a calming bedtime ritual.
Today's featured blend is Neal's Yard Remedies Night Time Remedies to Roll.
The soothing aromas of neroli, rose and Roman chamomile help create a sense of calm and relaxation before bed.
A simple evening ritual:
* Apply the Night Time Remedies to Roll to your wrists or fingertips.
* Tap gently on the EFT points while focusing on letting go of the day.
* Give yourself permission to rest.

🌿 Aromatherapy Awareness Week – Day 2: Meditation 🌿
One of the biggest myths about meditation is that you're supposed to stop thinking.
If only it were that easy!
Many people tell me they try meditation but end up getting frustrated because their minds are busy, distracted or full of to-do lists.
That's one reason I love combining aromatherapy with EFT Tapping.
A few calming breaths, a soothing scent and some gentle tapping can help create the conditions for mindfulness rather than trying to force yourself to feel calm.
Today I'm featuring Neal's Yard Remedies Meditation Remedies to Roll.
With frankincense, vetiver and sandalwood, it's a beautiful blend to support moments of stillness and reflection throughout the day.
Try this:
* Apply the Meditation Remedies to Roll to your wrists or fingertips.
* Follow a short tapping meditation.
* Focus on the aroma as you tap and breathe.
Remember, mindfulness doesn't have to take an hour. A few intentional minutes can make a difference.

🌸 Aromatherapy Awareness Week – Day 1: Women's Balance 🌸
Many people know me as an EFT practitioner and trainer, but before I discovered EFT, I trained and worked as an aromatherapist.
What fascinated me then—and still fascinates me now—is how quickly scent can influence how we feel.
Long before I was teaching people to tap on acupressure points, I was helping women use essential oils to create moments of calm, comfort and emotional support during life's transitions.
That's why I love combining EFT Tapping with Neal's Yard Remedies Women's Balance Remedies to Roll.
This beautiful blend of patchouli, geranium, rose and frankincense is designed to help create a sense of balance and wellbeing when emotions feel a little up and down.
I often suggest combining aromatherapy with tapping because they work in different but complementary ways. Aromatherapy engages the senses, while EFT helps calm the nervous system and process emotions.
My simple ritual:
1. Apply the Women's Balance Remedies to Roll to your wrists or fingertips.
2. Spend a few minutes tapping while focusing on how you're feeling right now.
3. Notice the scent, your breathing, and any shifts in your body.
You don't need an hour. Sometimes five minutes is enough to help you feel more grounded and centred.

Birth is not just about bringing a baby into the world…
It’s also about being born as this new version of you
In this beautiful EFT session, we used tapping and visualisation to help create a calm, loving and connected welcome for baby.
✨ Feeling safe
✨ Feeling present
✨ Releasing fear and inviting calm
✨ Connecting deeply with baby before birth
One of my favourite moments was the “bright white squishy bubble of love” surrounding both mum and baby 🤍
Whether your birth is natural, induced, or a planned cesarean… your experience matters.
Your emotions matter.
And you deserve to feel supported, safe and connected through it all.

EFT & Happiness: What the Research Found
When people think about EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), they often think about reducing stress or anxiety…
But research suggests the benefits may go much further.
In this 2018 study published in the Journal of Evidence Based Integrative Medicine, participants receiving Clinical EFT showed improvements across multiple physiological and emotional health markers.
One of those findings?
Happiness increased by 31%
The same study also found improvements in areas including:
Anxiety
Depression
PTSD symptoms
Cortisol levels
Immune system markers
What’s so interesting about this research is that it highlights how emotional wellbeing and physical wellbeing are deeply connected.
When the nervous system feels safer, people often report not only less distress… but more calm, connection, hope and joy too.

This was my lush view of the sky peering through a hawthorn tree.
Taken from my sunbed in the garden during a few minutes of relaxation in what turned out to be a very busy day!
The day started with making a surprise birthday cake for my daughter, then delivering it to her house ready for her Bridgerton-themed party.
Next stop was a blood test for my new do health subscription with Dr Chatterjee. I'm excited to get the results back and learn how I can optimise my health and wellbeing.
Then, once the temperature had cooled down a little, it was off to the allotment to plant out a new bed: Cabbages, Leeks, Chives, Celery, Kohlrabi

Another Allotment update!
The greenhouse security team is officially on duty 😀
One chair + a bit of netting = keeping the wildlife from moving in during the heatwave!
Meanwhile, the plants are living their best lives on homemade “eau de compost” — a deliciously stinky mix of comfrey and nettle tea! Smells awful. Works brilliantly.
