In the news: PCOS has officially been renamed PMOS — Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.
The name change is a big deal for anyone on a fertility journey. It recognises that the condition runs deeper than the ovaries; it's hormonal, metabolic, and whole-body.
As a fertility yoga teacher, I've always taken a whole-body approach because your cycle, your hormones, your nervous system, and your metabolism are all in conversation with each other.
This name change feels like science is catching up.

Decades-long campaign powered by patient perspectives results in switch from PCOS – a name that caused confusion and undue suffering – to PMOS

If you’re on a fertility journey, you know it’s not always straightforward and that hormones play a huge role.
In this blog post I am looking at how yoga can help rebalancing the endocrine system.

For the first time in U.S. history, people aged 40+ are having more babies than teens. Birth rates for ages 40–44 have risen 127%, while teen births continue to drop.
Advances in fertility treatments, financial stability, and emotional readiness are all contributing factors.
As a fertility yoga teacher, I see how cultivating calm, awareness, and resilience through yoga can support this journey—at any age. Let your timing be yours.
The Number of People Over 40 Giving Birth Surpasses Teens for the First Time
Data from a new study indicates that people are becoming first time parents at ages 40 and over more frequently. Here's why that's a good thing.

As a fertility yoga teacher, I often emphasise the importance of listening to our bodies and trusting our unique journeys. In the realm of fertility, there's a lot of information and many tools marketed to us, and it's essential to approach them with informed awareness.
Recently, research has brought to light concerns about widely advertised hormone tests, particularly the Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) test, as a reliable predictor of natural fertility. While the AMH test can be valuable in specific contexts, such as guiding fertility treatments like IVF by indicating the approximate number of eggs for retrieval, studies show it cannot reliably predict your chances of conceiving naturally, the quality of your eggs, or precisely when menopause might occur.
This insight reinforces the message that our fertility is a complex and nuanced process, not solely defined by a single test. Relying too heavily on such tests for general fertility prediction can sometimes lead to unnecessary anxiety or, conversely, a false sense of security that might delay important family planning decisions.
In our practice, we focus on nurturing the body, mind, and spirit to support overall well-being and reproductive health. This includes cultivating a deeper connection with our bodies, managing stress, and fostering a positive mindset—elements that are often overlooked in the quest for quick answers from a blood test.
Widely advertised hormone test unreliable as fertility prediction tool for women, researchers say
Experts warn patients are making ‘significant life changes’ based on the anti-Müllerian hormone test, which they say is not reliable for many of its advertised uses

There are many ways in which yoga is improving fertility. It can help regulate hormones, increase body awareness and make more space and flow in the body. It can connect us to our creativity, improve organ function, breathing and energy levels.
So, let’s zoom in and look how our fertility can be improved by working with the muscles and with the psoas muscle in particular.
