To the women who take care of everyone
Whoâs taking care of them? đ¤ˇââď¸
So many of the women I work with are approaching 40 or already past it, and they all share one thing in common
Theyâve spent years pouring into their families, their careers, their parents
And somewhere along the way, their own health quietly fell to the bottom of the list
What breaks my heart is by doing that, theyâre unknowingly writing the same story for the next generation
This is personal for me right now
Unfortunately we donât speak about this enough
From your 30s onwards, you lose roughly 3â8% of muscle mass per decade
This process is called Sarcopenia
After 50, it speeds up (can double if youâre inactive)
And muscle isnât just about looking toned sis
Itâs your metabolism, your energy, your ability to stay independent and present for the people you love
The good news?
Research shows the bodyâs ability to build muscle in response to training is preserved well into very old age
So itâs honestly is never too late
But it does get harder the longer you wait
If youâre approaching 40 or already there and youâve been putting yourself last this is your sign
You canât pour from an empty cup, and your future self (and the people who look up to you) need you to start filling yours

Self care at 40 isnât just face masks and time offâŚ
itâs the way you speak to yourself every single day
Thereâs something called perceived behavioural control
basically your belief in your own ability to create a result
And this is where most women get stuck
Not because they donât know what to doâŚ
but because deep down, they donât fully believe they can stick to it
So what happens?
â You start strong
â Life gets busy
â The scale fluctuates
â You fall off
â And you reinforce the same story again
âI canât stay consistentâ
âI always mess this upâ
And that becomes your reality
Because your thoughts â drive your actions â which create your results
Thatâs why I included those affirmation cards in your goodie bags
Not because theyâre cuteâŚ
but because your internal dialogue matters more than you think
No, affirmations arenât magic
But if you constantly tell yourself you fail⌠you will
And if you start reinforcing that you follow through, adapt, and keep goingâŚ
your behaviour starts to match it
Fat loss isnât just about calories and training
Itâs about becoming the woman who:
â shows up when she doesnât feel like it
â stays consistent when life gets busy
â doesnât quit after one off day
And yes you are allowed to want to lose weight and to want to look good for Summer/life or an event
But more than anythingâŚ
You should want to feel strong, capable, and in control of your body
Because thatâs where real change happens

40 isnât too late to dream bigâŚ
For me that looks like shaping my career with a variety of ways to help connect with women
Always working on my own health and fitness goals
And understanding how to create boundaries around my existence
Because itâs so easy to live, breathe and continuously work inside my business, coach, teach⌠consistently learning, investing and not ever really taking a day off despite truly loving what I do
Plus Aprils been a little heavy so far
Was nice to take a step back and get away from screens for a couple hours
Work on a little vision board session; although I think I am actually doing most of this already đ
âYes I need a new shedâ after a storm blew mine down about 2yrs ago
Anyway, I think this might be nice to do as a break out session, as a fitness based one for my clients on our next in person event
