To the women who take care of everyone

Who’s taking care of them? 🤷‍♀️

So many of the women I work with are approaching 40 or already past it, and they all share one thing in common

They’ve spent years pouring into their families, their careers, their parents

And somewhere along the way, their own health quietly fell to the bottom of the list

What breaks my heart is by doing that, they’re unknowingly writing the same story for the next generation

This is personal for me right now

Unfortunately we don’t speak about this enough

From your 30s onwards, you lose roughly 3–8% of muscle mass per decade

This process is called Sarcopenia

After 50, it speeds up (can double if you’re inactive)

And muscle isn’t just about looking toned sis

It’s your metabolism, your energy, your ability to stay independent and present for the people you love

The good news?

Research shows the body’s ability to build muscle in response to training is preserved well into very old age

So it’s honestly is never too late

But it does get harder the longer you wait

If you’re approaching 40 or already there and you’ve been putting yourself last this is your sign

You can’t pour from an empty cup, and your future self (and the people who look up to you) need you to start filling yours

Self care at 40 isn’t just face masks and time off…

it’s the way you speak to yourself every single day

There’s something called perceived behavioural control

basically your belief in your own ability to create a result

And this is where most women get stuck

Not because they don’t know what to do…

but because deep down, they don’t fully believe they can stick to it

So what happens?

→ You start strong
→ Life gets busy
→ The scale fluctuates
→ You fall off
→ And you reinforce the same story again

“I can’t stay consistent”

“I always mess this up”

And that becomes your reality

Because your thoughts → drive your actions → which create your results

That’s why I included those affirmation cards in your goodie bags

Not because they’re cute…

but because your internal dialogue matters more than you think

No, affirmations aren’t magic

But if you constantly tell yourself you fail… you will

And if you start reinforcing that you follow through, adapt, and keep going…

your behaviour starts to match it

Fat loss isn’t just about calories and training

It’s about becoming the woman who:
→ shows up when she doesn’t feel like it
→ stays consistent when life gets busy
→ doesn’t quit after one off day

And yes you are allowed to want to lose weight and to want to look good for Summer/life or an event

But more than anything…

You should want to feel strong, capable, and in control of your body

Because that’s where real change happens

40 isn’t too late to dream big…

For me that looks like shaping my career with a variety of ways to help connect with women

Always working on my own health and fitness goals

And understanding how to create boundaries around my existence

Because it’s so easy to live, breathe and continuously work inside my business, coach, teach… consistently learning, investing and not ever really taking a day off despite truly loving what I do

Plus Aprils been a little heavy so far

Was nice to take a step back and get away from screens for a couple hours

Work on a little vision board session; although I think I am actually doing most of this already 😂

“Yes I need a new shed” after a storm blew mine down about 2yrs ago

Anyway, I think this might be nice to do as a break out session, as a fitness based one for my clients on our next in person event
