PARENTS… DON’T GIVE UP ON THEM. ❤️🔥
Another training session with my 13-year-old Jordan.
Is it easy getting a teenager into the zone early in the morning? ABSOLUTELY NOT. 😂
Some days I’m competing with the TV, Roblox, the phone, scrolling… and that little voice saying, “I can’t be bothered.”
We stopped training for a few days and today it felt like we had never trained before. 😩😂
But I’m not giving up.
Because right now, Jordan might not completely understand why I keep pushing him.
But one day he will.
We have a race coming in a few months, and when he crosses that finish line, I want him to understand something much bigger than sport:
EVERY EARLY MORNING WAS WORTH IT.
EVERY TIME HE WANTED TO STOP WAS WORTH IT.
EVERY TIME HE CHOSE DISCIPLINE OVER COMFORT WAS WORTH IT.
Life won’t always be easy.
Our children need to learn how to work for something, struggle a little, get back up, stay committed and discover what their bodies and minds are capable of.
As parents, we cannot remove every challenge from their lives.
Sometimes our job is to pull them towards the things they don’t yet realise they need.
For me, SPORT AND MUSIC ARE TWO OF THE MOST POWERFUL GIFTS WE CAN GIVE OUR CHILDREN. ❤️
They create discipline.
Confidence.
Community.
Expression.
Resilience.
Purpose.
So parents… keep taking them to training. Keep encouraging the football, dancing, boxing, running, swimming, music lessons — whatever makes them MOVE, CREATE and BELONG.
Even when they complain. 😂
Because one day, we won’t have to pull them anymore.
THEY’LL START PULLING THEMSELVES. ❤️🔥
Jordan, we have a race ahead of us.
So we keep going.
PULLING HARD TODAY… WITH THE VICTORY ALREADY IN OUR SIGHTS. 🏁🔥
