World Record Attempt Postponed
After a lot of thought, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone my 24 hour world record attempt, which was due to take place on 18th September 2026.
This isn’t a decision I’ve made lightly.
Over the past few months, there have been some drastic and unexpected changes within my family life that have taken a lot of my focus and energy. On top of that, I’m currently dealing with a hamstring injury which simply isn’t going to allow me to prepare and perform at the level this challenge demands.
There is also still some uncertainty surrounding the proposed venue, with the owners not yet being fully on board with the event. I don’t want to build everything around a venue that isn’t completely confirmed, especially for an attempt of this scale.
I could push ahead regardless, but I don’t want to turn up on 18th September knowing I haven’t been able to give this everything I have.
So instead of giving up, I’m giving myself another year.
The new date will hopefully be 18th September 2027.
The goal remains exactly the same. To take on 24 hours, push my body further than I ever have before, and chase that world record.
To every sponsor, supporter, friend and person who has backed me so far, I’m genuinely sorry for having to postpone this, and incredibly grateful for your patience, belief and support. I know some of you have put your time, money and resources behind this attempt and I don’t take that for granted for a second.
This isn’t the end of the journey.
It’s simply a change of date.
Over the next 12 months I’ll get myself right physically, deal with everything that needs dealing with personally, work on securing the right venue and make sure that when this attempt happens, I’m ready and everything around me is ready too.
18th September 2027.
Same goal.
Same ambition.
One more year to prepare.
I promise you, this is still happening.💪
Thank you to everyone who has stood behind me so far.
