Eternal Spring Wu Taiji Croydon cultivation route to achieve
This session took place at Schools of Kung Fu HQ, working on the Wu Taiji short form with a clear focus on refining flow, improving fluidity, and connecting the breath through each movement, bringing the form to life in a more natural and relaxed way.
A thoroughly enjoyable session guiding Sifu Keith from Schools of Kung Fu Sutton, alongside Amandeep from Schools of Kung Fu Horsham. The session was under the direction of Eternal Spring UK Chief Instructor Sifu Alan Paterson, who continues to develop Wu Taiji on behalf of the Eternal Spring Institute, supporting and progressing instructors throughout the organisation.
The energy throughout was positive, focused, and fully engaged.
Great Injet School at the Eternal Spring Wu Taiji 🙌
Sifu Alan Paterson, Head Instructor of Schools of Kung Fu and Eternal Spring UK, leading the Wu Taiji Short Form session alongside Sifu Keith from Schools of Kung Fu Sutton.
Also great to have Amandeep joining from Schools of Kung Fu Horsham and HQ, all working together to develop and refine the Short Form.
Focusing on flow, breathing, timing, and control, exploring the balance between slow, mindful movement and changes in speed, while keeping everything smooth, fluid, and connected.
Enjoy the process, trust the movement, and continue progressing through Wu Taiji .

Eternal Spring Institute Wu Taijiquan
Qi is not something you chase it’s something you allow.
In Wu Taijiquan every movement is an invitation for Qi to flow naturally without force without resistance. As Ma Yueliang demonstrated through his lifelong practice this is not something discovered overnight. It takes time to feel it and even longer to understand how to use it.
At first it’s subtle almost unnoticeable
A quiet sensation beneath the surface
Easy to doubt easy to overlook
But with patient practice the body softens the breath deepens and the mind becomes still. Then Qi begins to move like water continuous adaptable alive.
True skill is not in strength but in sensitivity
Not in speed but in awareness
What takes time builds depth
What takes patience creates something real
Qi is already within you Taijiquan simply teaches you how to listen and over time how to respond
The journey is long but the results are worth it

A fantastic evening in class with Eternal Spring Wu Taiji Croydon.
Students focused on the short form and the opening sequences, taking the time to truly make the movements their own while refining the finer details. The level of concentration and commitment throughout the session was clear to see, with everyone putting in strong, thoughtful effort into their practice.
A thoroughly enjoyable class to teach.
Many thanks to Sifu Bill for his support and assistance.
