If you’re preparing for the military, fi****ms, emergency services. Whatever your role , your legs are there to carry you through.

The difference when you’re on your course, stopping isn’t an option.

This challenge develops exactly that mindset.

400m overhead carry
24kg kettlebell
Switch arms when it drops
Run back to the kettlebell
Continue until all 400m are complete

This is going to hurt, accept it and get the work done.

How far will you get before you say….enough.

This are the common mistakes most of you are making when preparing for selection.

Your head doesn’t need to be all the way up.
Pick a point on the group foot away from you.

Fingers and feet together at all times

Don’t let the hips sag down - stay strong in the core throughout. You want a perfect line from the back of your neck to your feet.

Turn your elbows and arms in don’t let them flare out. This will help you spring up and lock back out to rest.

Elbows close to the body on the descent. Lock them in.

Chest to the floor.

BYU next year

5 miles in 30-degree heat out in Portugal. To get things started.

For those that don’t know it’s

4 miles. Every hour. On the hour. Until there’s one person left standing.

The winner this year? Over 100 miles.

That’s the level.

Over the next year, I’ll be documenting the training, the setbacks, the mindset, and exactly what it takes to prepare for something like this.

If you’re chasing a challenge of your own military, police, fitness, or just becoming stronger mentally then follow the journey.

The reality of CPC and military selection is simple. You’ll be expected to run, carry weight, think clearly and still perform.

That’s exactly why this style of conditioning matters.

This test exposes weakness under fatigue. It shows whether your training is actually preparing you for the demands of training… or just making you feel fit.
