💨 National Masters Open Water Champs!

❌ Very nearly cancelled due to high winds! Thankfully the event went ahead as planned!

😎 We were treated to sun, wind, showers, cloud, rain, choppy water and everything in between! Alllll the weather!

🌡️ Water temp was warm at 21 degrees C but the wind had a bite!

🤝 The event was really well organised, and the venue’s great!

🐙💚 Really happy that all of the Nottingham Leander SC left with at least one medal from these national champs! CONGRATS!

🥇🥇 I was chuffed to take the win in the 1km (45-49 age category) and we dominated the 4x500m mixed relay (fastest overall team on the day, with a 160+ age category team!). Our 120 were so close to their age category win, coming home with an impressive only a few secs behind the winning team🥈

👋 Also turns out Carl and I need to practice our high-5s! Close enough!

🤩 So good to catch up with many friends and familiar faces!

🙌 Until next year …(that’s my one annual dip in any form of open water done, back to the comfort of the pool for me!)
