Today, I met "K"....

Long story short, I ran out of time to get to the gym after work because of a childcare issue with nursery, so decided I'd do a spot of plyometrics in the garden instead (great little fat burning cardio and resistance workout if you haven't already tried!)

I'm part way into my workout and an elderly neighbour pops his head over my fence. He calls me over.

He then proceeds to hand me something. It was a Davina McCall fitness DVD. He spotted me exercising and thought it might be "a bit more up my street."

This kind gesture then led to a conversation where we found out we had both lived in adjacent properties for around 10 years.

I told him I appreciated how he goes outside to care for the squirrels every day (the children love to watch them eat the nuts and I quite enjoy watching them chase the cats ๐Ÿ˜…).

This was the first time K and I had said hello/met.

This made me both happy and sad at the same time.

It made me think how we are all so busy sometimes that life (and neighbours) and can pass us by without realising.

It also made me realise why I never purchased a Davina workout DVD.... ๐Ÿ˜†

On that note, I'm off to squirrel watch with Lucia โค๏ธ

Your diet ISN'T fit for purpose....

You can think your diet is "good" or "healthy" but this doesn't mean it's right for your body goals.

A lot of you would be VERY surprised ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

You probably think you're getting enough protein, fluid, vitamins, veggies, overall amount of food etc....

I can guarantee you're likely nowhere near where you need to be.

"I'm going on a fasting diet to help me lose weight."

As with yesterday's post about skipping meals, this is yet another method that many women try and FAIL WITH over the long-term.

Don't get me wrong, fasting CAN be used by some people to help with some health conditions and weight management.

However...

In my experience as a professional fat loss and body transformation coach, fasting is NOT the way for you if it means you experience negative effects... ie the ones that aren't going to help you stick to your new diet.

For many women, fasting can become tedious because they start to:

โŒ๏ธ feel excessively hungry and therefore find it hard to stick to

โŒ๏ธ suffer with low energy, moods, anxiety etc

โŒ๏ธ eat the same amount of food across the 'non-fasting' period as they would if they weren't fasting (without having a proper calorie calculation from a professional)

The bottom line is this...

You DO NOT need to use fasting if you eventually find it difficult to sustain.

Stick to the basics. Eat good meals throughout the day and manage your portion sizes.

If you're unsure on where to start and you'd prefer to reach your body goals over the long-term as opposed to doing something that you'll likely fail at again, contact me.
