First game of the new season at the Valley for the 2017 Blades as they kicked off their step up to 7-a-side football with a win ✅ against against Ballyclare.

With a number of the girls getting their first experience of a new format, they took a few minutes to get used to the increased space and new positions. But once they settled the football started to flow.

Gaining in confidence as the match progressed the girls found their range with their passing, started taking on shots and got stuck into the tackles.

A confident performance from the girls resulted in the ball hitting the back of net repeatedly, with the goals spread across the team.

Well done to all the girls 🩵🩷

Saturday saw our 2018 side take their first steps in their Valley league journey

Playing a year up in the 17's division has it's expected challenges but the girls saw this as just another milestone in their development

Strong attacking from the opposition saw our defensive experience tested well and our threat infront of goal was constant throughout

Sadie Harris got off the mark for the season, scoring our first ever goal in this set up, followed shortly by Alice Antoniazzi, breaking through the defence finish low into the corner ⚽️⚽️

Isabella Yang picked up the Player of the Match award for a very strong performance for the entire game 🏆

Molly Anderson captained our side for day 🫡
