Berkshire Tri Squad

A friendly triathlon club of over 140 members, based in Windsor, Slough, Maidenhead and surroundings. A friendly triathlon club of over 140 members.

We have members who compete at all levels and disciplines, but many more who just enjoy the social elements of getting fit, joining others for rides, runs, swims and more.

Operating as usual

Exciting day for many of our club members today. Ben Eaton-Price is taking part in Ironman Barcelona (who had a rough looking swim from some of the pictures!), Gemma Korff, Michael Smyth and David Dyer are taking part in the London marathon, Simon Ashwell is taking part in the virtual London Marathon and Joanne and Martyn Parrish are taking part in the Loch Ness marathon! What a day. We’re looking forward to hearing how they all got on…

Fantastic effort from club member Julia, who is completing LEJOG at the moment. Here she is at Ironbridge. Go Julia Hodkinson!

Brilliant club champ event this weekend at Dorney Lake. There is nothing quite like being able to compete whilst having constant support on the course from your fellow club members.

A misty start for our club members competing today in the Cotswolds 113 event. Good luck to all- especially those who are taking on this distance for the first time.

Absolutely fantastic to have members at a social event today. Whilst limited in numbers due to ongoing restrictions, it was lovely to have members, past, present and future catching up over some food and drink!

Today we are at the Jubilee River litter picking in support of ‘Surfers against Sewage’… the team are just setting up!

Wednesday night is spin night with BTS... currently alfresco to ensure we are in line with Covid restrictions. Here is our fabulous instructor Julia putting us through our paces!

BTS club sessions are back! Our first swim session at Wycombe Lido took place last night. It was great to see the sea of black and yellow swim hats moving up and down the pool again

Great effort from club members in the Zwift SuperLeague race last night. Lockdown has been tough, but the creativity of the club has meant we’ve been able to race together and ‘be together’ whilst apart. We’re very proud of the efforts made by all the volunteers in the club to achieve this, and sense the future is bright as the end of lockdown starts to become a reality.
Fancy joining us? Do contact us as we are always looking to expand our family! We have novices through to elite competitors and programmes to suit every level.

Throwback to summer 2019! Members are missing physical meet-ups, but we’re playing our part to drive infection down, helping to fight this disease, so we can enjoy moments like this again. We’re online though, so contact us if you want to be part of the BTS family.

Berkshire Tri Squad members (and their pets!) enjoyed some training in the snow yesterday!

We’re very pleased to announce that Captain Gemma Korff has won British Triathlon South Central Key worker of the year and is now in the running for national key worker of the year status too! Congratulations Gemma and thank you for both your massive contribution to the club and amazing work you’ve done this year helping people!

Triathlon activity remains exempt from government restrictions 24/09/2020

Triathlon activity remains exempt from government restrictions

There's Bake off and there's this. Some silver lining to all those clouds. Now where did I put that banana bread recipe?

Triathlon activity remains exempt from government restrictions Further to the Prime Minister’s statement in Parliament earlier today, we understand that organised outdoor sport in England remains exempt from the new restrictions. Furthermore, we also understand new restrictions on indoor activity in England only apply to team sports.

Could we have picked a more perfect spot for the home of Berkshire Tri Squad?

Who else has fallen in love with Bray Lake this year?

Blast from the past Corinne! Once you've raced in black and yellow it never leaves you. Hope to see you soon.

Sink or Swim.

The pools are reopening soon, who's getting back in their local pool and who's fallen in love with open water during lockdown.

If you've had a few month off swimming, do not fear, coached sessions will be back when guidance allows to ease you back into the water.

We've come a long long way together, through the hard times and the good.

BTS are proud to be a friendly, inclusive, social club run by volunteers (members) for our members. The committee have worked hard over the last few months to ensure our squad has felt valued, social activity has continued online and training taken a different slant.

With a few moments to breath for reflection we're surprised at how much we've achieved.

Have you joined any of our online/virtual training/socials over the last few months?

Who else is repping BTS colours out there at the moment? Stephanie's been showing the Nottinghamshire countryside who we are.

Show us your latest kit pics...

Sausage roll of champions? Evening racing calls for lunchtime feed up.

How do you fuel for afternoon/evening races?

Who's joining us for the IM virtual sprint tonight?

Medal Monday. We're super proud of ⁦run coach Andrea Taborelli who topped the ⁦IRONMAN VR10 leaderboard this weekend in the UK.

Seems like the BTS Lock down training plans and virtual classes are paying dividends for our members, drop us a message if you'd like to learn more about membership.

Not only do they organise fantastic events that we love participating in, but their work enabling participation in triathlon is inspiring. We look forward to supporting at their events in future.

Massive Thanks to Berkshire Tri Club for choosing Arctic One for their Charity of the Year in 2019. Following club events fundraising days etc they have raised a staggering £1050!

All of this money will go into our Grant System helping many other Para Athletes pursue their sport. We will be in touch with your members shortly highlighting some of the people that you have helped.

Many of the Tri Club Members take part in our Events and also help out at our annual Tri and Para Tri Festival at Dorney Lake. We are very grateful!

Who'd a thought a tepid lake, some inflatable buoys and could bring so much joy to so many.

How many of you enjoyed a safe, socially distanced swim over the weekend? Show us your photos.

This is .uk who have done a fantastic job of setting up zones for everyone to stay distanced.

You've got to be in it to win it. We've kept the training up, the group rides on Zwift and now the BTS social has continued despite lock down!

Thanks to a quiz masters for a fun night.
