Roisin has trained her ass off over the last 7 months to cycle up a mountain (yep… a f**king mountain!!) and yesterday, after months of graft, she did it!! 53miles with a total climb of nearly 4000 feet!!

Loved the work for this, strength training played a huge part in getting her up there, hours in the saddle and pushing through some horrific sessions on the bike.

Performance for endurance athletes is a lesser spoken area of what I do, but I do enjoy it and the love I have for anyone hitting the goal they trained for is real!

Appreciation post for !
Will has been working with me for a while now and on his personal programme for nearly a year, he worked up to winning Berkshire’s Strongest Man and has been diligently working for a 300kg deadlift!

Competing at the deadlift comp last weekend at he got 300kg off the floor, to his knees but narrowly missed finishing the lift! Awesome to see and no doubt it’ll be in the bag soon!

Pleasure to see this man go from strength to strength and I can’t wait to se t the next goal πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

puts on a hell of a show and to be sharing the platform with such monsters was an absolute privilege!

Coming out of the other side of injury has been in my head and the fear of launching my spine out of my ass hole has been real for a long time, but the prep for this comp, cutting weight and traveling for it, being around sone of the greatest Powerlifters in the country and being a part of it fuelled me along where I believe I had sone kilos left to give, which is a nice place to be!

Plan in progress to come back next year and be a bit more of a threat to those bigger numbers!

Tanya and Paul, thank you for putting on the show, I know first hand the effort that goes into these and I’m not ashamed to confess that yours put any meet I’ve hosted before to shame, and I pride myself on running great competitions!! πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

Had an absolute blast today! Early start to see Becki and Bella through their comp (both smashed it out of the park!) then on to my debut on a Powerlifting platform!

Huge thank you for for handling me and getting me to push past my mental blocks, and for for staying after her session to supply support and snacks!

Finished with Squat 170, Bench 110, Deadlift 200, which I’m stoked about!!

On the back of the commonwealth games and the success of our home nation lifters, I wanted to celebrate by offering a free 90 minute Olympic lifting taster session for you and a mate!

Got to be a proper fanboy this weekend!!! Hosted Berkshire’s Strongest on Saturday which was amazing! Reffed by the great and .strongwoman (who are two of the loveliest people I’ve ever met by the way!)

Got to witness history as .lovelace.kaosstrength destroyed her previous world record deadlift of 272.5kg by hitting 282.5kg after delivering an inspiring and touching seminar at the barn the night before!

And got a new piece of memorabilia for the barn, a plate from the bar that world record was set on, sig Ed by Rhi and Rob!! Which if you’re an enormous strength geek like me, you’ll agree is a freaking cool thing to have!

It’s great being me sometimes! 😁

Is a valid (if ultimately frustrating) sentence I hear a lot!

Fact is, putting on muscle mass takes years of structured consistent training and nutrition, and even then, we’re talking a few kilos!!

There’s a whole other post about composition of weight gain, we’ll pin that for another day…

I started training at about 12 years old, and have tried really hard to get β€˜too big’ I’m now 34 and I’m still not… in spite of going through puberty with testosterone on my side! I got very strong, but stayed relatively small (comparatively to my competitors).

The notion of lifting weights making people massive is false and damaging to the sports because it puts people off! There’s so much untapped potential in people not training strength, that you could be the next big thing (excuse the pun…) in strength sports, but are holding yourself back for fear of an image you’ll likely never have!!

So what’s stopping you? Come and get strong, make sone new friends, feel great, look awesome and enjoy being strong for life! πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‘ŠπŸ»
